As I recall, in 1973, IDF armour was well on the way to Damascus with no Syrian troops in the way. The force was stoppped and recalled and all realize the way to Damascus was clear.

What everyone has forgotten is that Israel has Nuclear weapons and has said they will use them.If this war starts to involve Syria and/or Iran will Israel use those weapons? I think Israel has shown a lot of restraint given the size of their military compared to those who oppose them.It would be so easy to nuke them.
