Newt concedes we don't know if NK can shoot off a nuclear missile

I can't help but wonder where Newt's getting his information. He hasn't exactly been "in the loop" since he ran away from Washington.

"And no McCain? Wheeeeerrrrreeee's Johnny? Is he ailing?"

No he is at the hospital getting Sean Hannity's lips surgically removed from his butt. He was on with Sean Thrusday and it seem Sean sucked up just a little too hard

Newt is bashing the President.

He didn't have much good to say about the State Department policies/actions either. That would translate to imply that he doesn't like the policies of the current Secretary of State.

According to Dodd, the world is in this situation be WE have not spent the last five years "building relationships".

The world is where it is thanks to the relationships Clinton built. And I'm tired of hearing that we are so bogged down in Iraq...what example were they before the war if not an advertisement for ignoring UN resolutions?

Did you catch THIS one from Timmy?...

He sets up the scenario: North Korea sends missiles into the south and advances its army to Seoul. A MILLION LIVES LOST IN A WEEK!!

Then (incredibly) he says this: "Isn't it true that we know how to start a war, but not how to finish it".

"WE"!

NK invades SK...and WE started the war. Libs like Timmy and Biden will surely be the death of us.

In three minutes - Newt catalogs the world.

What intellect the man has.

Yes, and it is precisely why the left fears and despises him so.

Did you notice that Biden had some kind of paper on the table? Wonder what that paper was? The questions Timmy gave him before the program?

I didn't see any papers in front of Newt.

Good point. It's not like he's getting intelligence updates. And since he's bashed our intelligence community so thoroughly, I'm sure not even his friends within that community are talking to him.

I guess he also thinks that Isreal started the war with Hezbollah.

Just answer this for me. I have the need for a sanity check. Do I have this correct? When President Bush goes unilateral and uses force he's wrong. When he goes multilateral and sets up talks, he's wrong. When he ignores the whining of a dictator he's wrong. When he takes one out he's wrong. Am I right?

Tim is giving an inordinate amount of time to Biden.

I thought Biden forgot were he was and thought he was in the Senate and was doing a filibuster. Russert let him rant on and on and on and on.

Very thoughtful description, Rod. And very true all also. But news reports now seems to be shfting in our favor as France & Russia REVISED their criticism of Israel - now they are not saying what they were before. (they came to attacking Hesballah too).

They are incredibly irresponsible. What they do is equivalent to the Koran flushing story and they do it over and over and people are dying because of it. Repeat constantly that we are stretched too thin and the nutcases of the world start to believe it. If there is all out war, it won't be the President who is responsible, but if there is, I am glad he is the one to lead the fight.

Newt is always most concerned about Newt.

@@@@@

Yes, and good 'ol boy Clinton was able to bamboozle Newt with ease because of that blind spot. "He likes me, he really likes me, we see eye to eye, we can work together."

Ah,yes, Chuck Wepner...

The "Bayone Bleader"

According to Stallone he was the inspiration for Rocky. Except for losing all of his big fights, that is...

One of the first pay to view satellite broadcast fights was an exhibition (from Japan) with Ali against a Japanese kick boxer. They set up Madison Square Garden with some of the early huge projection TV screens (spotlight size red, green and blue projectors that they had to laboriously line up to get a proper color picture).

They had a preliminary bout live in the Garden. That fight was Chuck Wepner vs Andre the Giant.

Wepner threw two vicious rights directly at Andre's midsection (it was as high as he could reach) and THEY BOUNCED OFF. Andre then picked up Wepner and threw him into the third row of spectators. End of fight.

I loved it.

How can this idiot possibly think he has even a remote chance of being elected president?

Tim: We didn't know if you'd testified before the grand jury; you talked to the FBI and Fitzgerald and the grand jury. Did you tell them who your sources were.

Novak: No, because they already knew. Fitzgerald had waivers that i could give up my source and then I was told he had only waivers from the sources I had talked with.

I want to repost this from yesterday

I'm definitely watching MTP with Newt on Sunday!

Gingrich says it's World War III
Seattle Times ^ | July 15, 2006 | David Postman

Posted on 07/15/2006 10:32:36 PM CDT by West Coast Conservative

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says America is in World War III and President Bush should say so. In an interview in Bellevue this morning Gingrich said Bush should call a joint session of Congress the first week of September and talk about global military conflicts in much starker terms than have been heard from the president.

"We need to have the militancy that says 'We're not going to lose a city,' " Gingrich said. He talks about the need to recognize World War III as important for military strategy and political strategy.

Newt's staking out what I think is the right position, but I find this significant beyond his potential candidacy.  This is what the '08 Presidential race will be about and, increasingly, it looks like this may be what the '06 midterms will be about.  The liberals (read that as "extreme leftists"), who now own the Democrat party, want to return to the notion of all of these "troubles" being manageable as "crimes" and something we can take to courts or the UN.  Conservatives have declared that this point of view is not only BS, but criminally insane and dangerous to the continued survival of civilization.  How well the Republicans do this fall may depend on how well they understand that dichotomy and respond to it.

Newt may just save us for '06, even if he doesn't win in '08.  If he does save us in '06 by making this a top issue then he may deserve our support in '08
