Can anyone imagine the uproar in the MSM if conservative billionaires pooled their money into a SECRET political action committee?

a belief that Democrats became the minority party in part because liberals do not have a well-funded network of policy shops, watchdog groups and training centers for activistsThis is absolutely hilarious!!!!
The Left has had all of this since the thirties!! College campuses, newspapers / magazines, People for the American Way, NOW, Planned Parenthood, Union of Concerned Scientists, NCC, the American Civil Liberties Union -- COME ON!!! We on the Right have only gotten into the act very recently by comparison.
The entire LEFT IS a well-funded network of policy shops, watchdog groups and training centers for SUBVERSIVES.
Someone needs to pass this to Horowitz -- except that he might laugh himself to death.

The inspiration, according to founders, was a belief that Democrats became the minority party in part because liberals do not have a well-funded network of policy shops, watchdog groups and training centers for activists equivalent to what has existed for years on the right. They're on the right track, but they fail to understand the real role of the conservative "policy shops, watchdog groups, and training centers for activists."
Those groups were all utterly ruthless in their ability to cull the weakest ideas out of conservativism. The liberal think tanks won't do that - they won't cull the herd of ideas. So, it's just going to throw good money after bad.

Gill is noted for founding Quark and enthusiastic sodomy. How does one know this? Do the neighbors complain about him shouting "YEEEHAW!" while in the saddle, so to speak?

He makes it a point to fund it and speak out on behalf of it. He an enthusiastic sodomist in the same way William F Buckley and Bob Bork are enthusiastic Roman Catholics. Everybody has a religion. In Gill's case it involves another persons rectum.

What a bunch of delusional drooling wankers - the Demagogues have loads and loads and loads of leftist "policy shops" called universities, law schools, journalism programs, lib foundations, NGOs, public schools, unions, etc. They's just upset because their decades of propaganda work is now seen to be failing (though they've made enormous inroads across our society, people are starting to wake up).

The Demagogues have loads and loads and loads of leftist "policy shops" called universities, law schools, journalism programs, lib foundations, NGOs, public schools, unions, etc.It is somewhat laughable. On the other hand, with all that, the liberal "movement" has significant weaknesses in the area of thought leadership that can be applied to their other ample resources. They are in drastic need of targeted, rational, coherent, progressive policy architecture.

"Why is it that most of the super rich seem to be democrats?"
Because the belief in leftist ideas generally require a detachment from reality. The super rich are the kind of people whose money have isolated them to that degree. This is also why many ivory tower intellectuals are leftists.

Billionaire Atheist And Homosexual Activist Are Busy Building A Shadow Government
August 1, 2006 - The Washington Post did conservative voters a favor two weeks ago by running a feature on the newest venture of billionaire atheist/socialist George Soros and his ally, millionaire homosexual activist Tim Gill. Soros and Gill (who made his fortune as founder of Quark), have formed Democracy Alliance, a group that lavishes millions upon radical liberal groups that are willing to tow the Soros/Gill party line.
Democracy Alliance is part of a whole network of organizations that form part of the Soros shadow government in the U.S. The Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank run by former Clinton staffer John Podesta, is one of these power groups. Media Matters for America and Air America are two additional groups in this shadow government and others include: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington; Center for Progressive Leadership and many others. Twenty-five groups have received the blessing of Democracy Alliance and are receiving funding. Soros and Gill hope that their millions will buy them far left control of Congress and the White House in 2008.
Soros front organizations typically use words progress or progressive in their titles. These words are code for socialist or internationalist ideologies and amorality. Soros pours money into efforts to legalize marijuana, euthanasia, and other anti-life activities. Tim Gill has used his millions to try to defeat marriage protection amendments all over the U.S. The Gill Foundation is an artesian well of money for homosexual activist groups. His foundation is targeting our nations public school children for pro-homosexual brainwashing programs through its funding of Gay Straight Alliance clubs on junior high and high school campuses. These groups exploit sexually confused youth into believing theyre born gay and that they must become a liberal political force in America.
The Soros/Gill shadow government is effectively funding all sorts of 527 organizations in an effort to influence the elections in 2006 and 2008. They want to defeat conservative candidates and fill Congress and the White House with Howard Dean-type Democrats. In order to effectively fight the Soros/Gill shadow government, the Congress must remove regulatory shackles imposed on political parties, PACs, and non-profit groups if they are to compete against this shadow government. In Congresss misguided efforts to bring about election reform, they have tied the hands of those opposed to a Soros/Gill cultural revolution.
Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) has stated the problem well. In enacting campaign reform legislation, Congress put restrictions on how much money could be given to political parties and PACs, but 527 groups were generally free of onerous regulations. Money flowed to these groups in record amounts during 2004. In testifying before a congressional committee in April 2006, Pence observed: Because political speech and the money supporting such speech will always find a home in a free society, Swiftboat Veterans and MoveOn.org dominated the 2004 election airwaves, leaving political parties, political action committees and the campaign committees of George Bush and John Kerry with very little control over their own messages.
Rep. Pence and other conservative legislators know what must be done to create a level playing field against the Soros/Gill shadow government. The question is whether they will have enough votes to bring about meaningful legislative solutions to fix the damage done by previous campaign reform bills.
If our democratic system is to work the way the Founders envisioned, American politics cannot be dominated by a Soros/Gill network of 527s designed to undermine traditional values. Political parties, PACs, and non-profits should have just as much political power as the shadow government. http://www.alainsnewsletter.com/

Some activists said they worry that the alliance's new clout may lead to groups with a more centrist ideology becoming starved for resources.Hmmm. So does this mean that things are not as rosy in Democrat land as the "they're taking back the house' media hype of the last couple of weeks has led us to believe?
