This is a banner on CNN.com. I've also heard this on the NYC TV news. Nothing more yet.

Just watched Mickey Spillane's "Kiss Me Deadly" on TCM.
What a character. RIP Mickey.

I kicked in the door and shouted 'Freeze!' to the lone figure in the room. Even in the dark I could see she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever met. Then I saw a Lite Beer from Miller.
It's got a third less calories than a regular beer, and it's less filling, she whispered. But the best thing is it tastes so great.' Suddenly, all the pieces fell into place and I knew I'd come to the end of a long, long road. She poured. We drank. To be continued.
RIP Mickey!

I'm looking for verification. Can't find any yet.

Try that again: Mickey Spillane also
penned numerous stories for such Golden Age comic book heroes as Captain America, Sub-Mariner and the Human Torch.

The Jury is out for good.
"What makes you so tough, Hammer?"
"I eat shredded wheat, without milk."
Born: Frank Morrison Spillane on Mar 9, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York

A beautiful woman was the last person in the room.
No one knows who she was, as her face obscured by the rim of a hat pulled down over the side of her face.
Not that anyone would have noticed her face.
She was dressed in a tight seamless black dress, with legs up to kneck, and clevage that would make a priest sit up and take notice.

I don't know that I ever read one of his books. However, I do remember that he once owned and flew a P-51 -- and that impressed me!

Well, the banner on top of CNN.com says it, and I heard it on the local news. It must be on the wires, but not on Yahoo! or Google news yet.
BTW - if he was born in March 1918, Mickey Spillane was 88, not 87. A long life well lived. May he rest in peace.

Ah, this is a bummer. I've never been a mystery buff, but I've always respected Spillane. RIP.
