World War III is breaking out in Lebanon, and this is the story filed by CNN's Chief International Correspondent Christiane Amanpour? What the hell has happened to her?

. . .given that her sympathies are probably with Hizbollah; she probably has little to offer to meaningful analysis. . .

12 million children orphaned and 2.5 million with AIDS isn't necessarily the world's problem, but it is something that people should know.

These children haven't done anything to deserve this life they have. It is very sad to see so many suffering. Some people care about that. I am sorry for you if you can't understand.

No, but the sins of the parents get visited on the generations that follow.

How many hundreds of millions of dollars have we given to Africa to fight aids?I'll bet it's in the billions if you include $$$$ from other countries, benefit concerts,etc.. What has it accomplished?I'm running out of sympathy for Africa.

Africa is FREE.
Africa is INDEPENDENT.
Africa has HOME RULE.
Africa has ELECTED THEIR LEADERS.
Africa is a MESS of their OWN DOING..

Perhaps the Chinese will recolonize and take up the Yellow Man's burden, the White man is busy at the moment.....

"Why is it the world's problem?"

Read the gospels. All of them. Or even just the first one. Or even just the red lettered words of Jesus. From "love your neighbor as yourself" to "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me" to "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to go to heaven" to "sell all your possessions and give to the poor" to "blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy" to the words of James, the Lord's brother:

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

On my darkest days, I realize how marvelously blessed I am, living in abundance of food, medical care available for even my minor ills, peace and comfort envied by most of the world. It would not hurt even one of us to contribute toward helping those poor children. It is a real problem.

Perhaps you are not believers. But as Freepers, your callous attitude rips the heart out of conservatism.

Be suspicious of the AIDS label. They've greatly expanded the definition of what constitutes AIDS in a blatant attempt to guilt the West out of cash.

When HIV or AIDS has been shown to be transmitted through the air with no contact I will become concerned. The transmission method has been shown and when people CHOOSE not to avoid those methods, sorry but my concern and care is ZERO.

Call me uncaring, I don't care, they should have quarantined the carriers of this so called pandemic when they found them.

Your description of Africa bears striking resemblence to New Orleans, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, etc.

I hope the second part of your statement doesn't apply, however, I'm afraid others in this country wouldn.t agree with me.

Yesterday, she was reporting live from Haifa on CNN International. They've been advertising the Africa show for a short while now. (Yes I know it's biased, but CNN International is the only English news channel I have now, since BBC World got dropped.)

"Read the gospels. All of them."

Really? I seem to recall a section mentioning how stealing is a no no as well. Having the Federal government steal my tax dollars to give to corrupt turd world nations to combat a problem THAT THEY THEMSELVES perpetuate and embezzle the majority of it to the point its of no use to those suffering - well suffice it to say I think I'll pass. Your soul troubled by this epidemic? How much have YOU shelled out? Nothing huh? Guess its easier to wax outraged and vote for politicans who use thug tactics to get it from the rest of us.

Oh and shame on you for using the Bible to advance such nonsensical policies.
