Maybe the Senate knows best after all. What could be better than an imaginary fence to keep out imaginary terrorists that are crossing our imaginary borders.

"Big talk little do" is all that we can expect from these jerkoffs from h*ll. However, opening up social security to illegals is something all these so-called congressional members understand.

Did anyone really believe these guys [senators] want to secure the border?" he said.
No, but I can't believe they're so blatant about it.

I think that if they would add a $1 option to the end of the tax return, that ALOT of people would chip in ... and they would get a small measure of how important this is the voters and tax payers.
To: Founding Father
Typical of Congress. They vote for something to get cheers from their base, then never fund it. Usually the lack of funding doesn't get nearly the press as the original vote.
And so it goes.

Maybe someone on this thread can explain how or why they would apprpriate the money for legislation that has not been enacted?

Democrats were joined by 28 Republicans in opposing the Sessions amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations Act.28 RINOs need new jobs in their next election cycle, whether it be '06 or later.
Real conservatives need grassroots support in the primary season, because the 'leadership' of the party never back them against a RINO.
Never.

Does anyone know the names of those who voted against the money for the fence?
We must be very careful who we vote for in the next election.

"We do a lot of talking. We do a lot of legislating," said Senator Jeff Sessions, the Alabama Republican whose amendment to fund the fence was killed on a 71-29 vote. "The things we do often sound very good, but we never quite get there," he told the Washington Times. 71-29 - the "gop leadership" has shown exactly where its loyalty lies.
It's not US.

This was probably the whole reason for the ridiculous Senate version immigration reform. The employers who are now utterly dependent on illegal labor demand that that labor remain plentiful and illegal. They certainly don't want any border fences or any kind of guest worker program.

Each and every one of those Senators who voted against funding border security WHICH THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY APPROVED and WHICH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OVERWHELMINGLY WANT, should be removed from office.
Can a state impeach a Senator? If so, it should be done. This is such an egregious breech of public trust that any possible means of removing these criminals from office should be pursued.
Defending the U.S. border against invaders is a prime responsibility of the Federal Government. Failure to do so on the part of elected Federal Officials is a high crime and misdemeanor.
If this the way the Constitution is being applied by those in power, its necessary to remove them from office.

1.8 billion is a helluva lotta money for a damn fence!
They could grant money to ranchers, landowners and college kids to build it with the nat'l guard keeping watch.
Heck, I'll build it for 900 million easy!
I'm glad they didn't approve of it! Sounds like they were watching out for the money on this one finally!

The US Senate is pitiful. We need a Constitutional Amendment to make their terms two years instead of six.
Better yet, make it an annual election for these bozos.
