Imagine what sort of security business he can have in Lebanon that doesn't include in some way colluding with despicable characters.

You're right about the part about Syria, that was the tell. That his interest is selfish, personal and unique to Lebanon.

I think that is a "BINGO" post.

Certainly with his training and background, he'd have the contacts and expertise.

Hezboola was supposed to get out - so sayeth the toothless UN - but they never did, never disarmed - indeed it seems they 'up-armed' - and they also hold seats in the government...

Therefore, it isn't much of a stretch to surmise that, in order to run a business - particularly a SECURITY business there, one would have to play patty-cake with them,
