To the contrary, I cannot conceive two religions that are more dissimilar than Hinduism and Islam.
One is the most monotheistic and the other the most polytheistic of all religious faiths.
One is the most warlike of faiths, while the other (with individual exceptions, of course) is among the least.
One claims that it is the one true way for all people at all times, and endeavors to spread itself by any means necessary including the sword, while the other has such an abundance of gods and traditions that every adherent can choose his own favorite.
One is compatible with democracy and civilization, while the other manifestly is not.
