I guess we are used to hearing this, but this is worse than the numbers reported in Israel.

A hundred a day are probably enough, although I would probably counsel more.

Americans risked their lives to help these people from hardships... built them new schools and fine water supply, electricity, financial aid (huge one) and all for free...
Yet they're killing each other... This one's not Bush's fault anymore!

I dunno... I read about a bomb exploded in a market place, killing 30 people, now and then. Or the ones on police recruitment center, killing 8. But 100 per day?

100 per day? 365,000 per year? More than Hussein?
I don't think so.
More killed than all GI's in WW2 Pollleeasee!
More B.S.

Just for reference, 108 people are shot dead, on average, each night in Brazil.
That's not "killed in auto accidents" as the Iraq morgue count above would have you think. That's not "stabbed by knife" attacks. That's not "beaten with baseball bat" deaths.
That's just the people shot dead each night in the slums of Rio (mostly).
You know, that beachfront "vacation paradise" Rio, Brazil.
Which is to say, peacetime Brazil sees 10% more shooting deaths each night than all forms of violence combined in "wartime" Iraq.

Iraq has become a violent and lawless anarchy. What a tragedy. Let us hope that those nursing the facile hope that we can "build democracy" in the Mideast will be disabused of their dangerous fantasies.

<< Iraqi civilian deaths average 100 per day >>
The Iraqis are pikers, then.
In America, as only a couple of examples, 130 or so Americans die per day in traffic accidents, 100 by homicide and 175 from Alchoholism.

All but the willfully blind can see that Iraq is a disaster. As William F. Buckley said recently, "If you had a European prime minister who experienced what we've experienced [in Iraq] it would be expected that he would retire or resign."

I suspect it is a fraction of the daily civilian deaths under Saddam Hussain. After all he had death prisons and torture racks as a normal part of the society.
This is Islam in its prime, under the external test tube of democracy it is achieving far more than it would on its own. It is death, murder and destruction, but it is not democracy's fault. Other cultures achieve far more under democracy, as democracy is a structure that allow all facets of a society to be productive.
Islam's aspirations are death and destruction, so they are achieving it with all facets of society.
Besides, there are a hundred civilian deaths in America daily. Democracy does not deliver circuses, it delivers the freedom to express who you are in society.
Muslims are murderers. Its their religion, their highest aspirations. Democracy is helping them express themselves, nothing more.
