To: Lunatic Fringe

The President, referring to the children present at the ceremony, all of whom were adopted as embryos and now living in loving families:

"These boys and girls are not spare parts.

"They remind us of what is lost when embryos are destroyed in the name of research."

I agree, but what do you think of the argument that if we should not be allowed to destroy embryos to research for cures, why should couple be able to make them through in-vitro when they cannot conceive?

If "it" can be adopted, then isn't "it" a human? Otherwise, it would not require adoption procedures to demonstrate "ownership" of "it".
