I like the first three signs, but the "pinko hags" sign falls under the violation of DC Chapter rules, does it not?
It's name-calling and it's mean-spirited (at least in the minds of the emotionally driven). JMHO.
I can't speak for everyone, but my feeling is that if they are willing to protest the war in the faces of the wounded and their families outside a hospital, "hag" is just a tap on the wrist.
Seems spot on to me.
Another great report, Albion Wilde of another great FReep!
Thanks.
Code Pink is waging a worse-than-mean-spirited psychological war against our wounded troops and their loved ones at Walter Reed. Their behavior over the past year, their choice of signs, and their choice of location all indicate that they don't just want to oppose the war in Iraq. It indicates that they want to demoralize our wounded troops, their families, the general public and our elected officials. They want us (the US) to lose. They want us to give up. They want us to cut and run.
And if their tactics outside Walter Reed causes a wounded soldier or a distraught family member to lose all hope in their life, that's OK by them.
They want to win their war against the US at any cost.
They are worse than hags. But Jim Robinson has rules about profanity, so we tamed down our terminology.
Oh come on now TR, truth is truth and a little humor helps.
Seems rather puerile, I agree.
