My family was amazed when I showed them this verse from Genesis: Most people don't realise just where islam got it's start. And that it's Scriptural. I tell people that they have no idea the far reaching consequences of disobeying God or trying to "do it yourself".

He was also the result of a polygamous relationship.
God was preparing to bless the world through Israel, and the fruit of Abraham's given wife Sarah. But the Ishmael line reeks of disobedience and sin.
