The execution will go on, this is a white guy convicted of murdering a black woman.Yes,you would think that it would go forth,given what you've noted.But,just as with abortion,the pro murderer lobby can't allow a *single* execution to occur because of the "slippery slope" principle.

The SCOTUS recently ruled that the electric chair does not consititute cruel and unusual punishment.Good, start it out low, and gradually build the voltage so it takes him about as long to die as it did his victim.

C02 is a toxic gas and the person will not simply fall asleep. They will build up CO2 in the blood and feel like they are suffocating. That will give the libs reason to appeal as cruel and unusual punishment. Nitrogen does not have that same effect.

Helium is relatively expensive ... nitrogen (liquid or dry gas) is cheaper than dirt. Put him in a sealed room, hook up an LN2 dewar to a small port in the wall, and crack open the valve.

Last week, several guards showed up at Hedrick's cell late at night to present him with a form on which he was told to choose his execution method... Kinda reminds me of some of the forms I used to have to make out in the Navy...
