Thank you for posting this and this is the first time I have seen a site that had such good information on the cowardly bombing.

241 Marines Killed in Beirut
And how did the U.S. punish Hezbollah and Iran?
3 Americans killed in Gaza Strip blast
October 16th, 2003
"Gaza Strip A remote-controlled bomb exploded under a U.S. diplomatic convoy Wednesday, ripping apart an armored van and killing three Americans in an unprecedented deadly attack on an official U.S. target."
"The attack targeted a convoy of U.S. Embassy diplomats heading to Gaza to interview Palestinian candidates for a Fulbright scholarship, Bush said."

And how did we punish the Palestinians? We send them $$$.

Our mission in Beirut was a mistake that was doomed to failure, but we did our best given the constraints. Our nation learned the hard way that there is no peace until one side gains a decisive hand and all sides want peace. And we learned that peacekeeping is not possible until there is a peace to keep.
Thank you for remembering my old shipmates, and for your post. We can honor them best by crushing the terrorists, especially Hizb'Allah, and never granting them a safe haven in which to fester. Two down (Afghanistan and Iraq) and now two to go (Syria and Iran).
Your website mistakenly notes the date of "October 22, 1983" in connection with the truck bomb attack on the BLT 1/8 headquarters building. The actual date was Sunday, October 23, so you might want to make that correction.
Thanks again. Semper Fidelis...

The IDF is helping pay respect to the memory of our fallen soliders with a continuous gun salute right now. God Bless Israel.

I will never forget and neither will my family. We fly the colors at half staff every October 22. The bombings were my inspiration for joining the Corps.

Thank you all for the positive feedback and support. If you have any suggestions for the 241, the main site or any other project we undertake don't hesitate but to let us know.
Further, we would love to get further feedback and ideas for how we can continue to create good content for the community.
Thank You.
