"Liberals are shrieking about theocracy at the very moment when religion has never been so much under attack. Theocracy? We already have a state religion: it's called liberalism. Sure, it's a religion that rejects the idea of God and reviles people of faith, but it still bears all the attributes of a religion. It has its sacraments (abortion), its holy writ (Roe v. Wade), its martyrs (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal), its clergy (public school teachers), its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free), its doctrine of infallibility (as manifest in the “absolute moral authority” of spokesmen from Cindy Sheehan to Max Cleland), and its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident). It even has a creation myth: Darwin's theory of evolution." --Review at a conservative book club, pretty much word for word Ann Coulter's Godless.

"The problem with your idea is that many of these "liberal Christians" do not even acknowledge the divinity of Christ"

Alright, whatever you say. I'm frankly not interested in arguing Christian belief with anyone. Have it your way. You always will.

You see, that’s the crux of the liberals’ problem. This conflict is not about political or social divisions. It’s about authority—specifically, whether or not Christians are willing to acknowledge that the Bible is our authority.

Another "crux" of the problem is liberals see religion as a horse to ride to victory, not as an expression of their heartfelt religious beliefs.

What does your "going one god further" have to do with whether Chuck is a scumbag or not?

Are you four years old? Reread my post. I wasn't attacking you. I was trying to hold a discussion. If you can't handle having your statements questioned on a forum then don't post. Grow up.

Ready to be proved fount of slander again, eh?

For those who might wonder what I'm talking about, the last time search4truth posted on FR, it was in another Colson thread, a thread in which he also accused Colson of promoting heresy. The problem is that he never got around to backing it up. It's no wonder he won't provide any evidence, since accusing Colson of undermining orthodox Christianity is about as smart as pointing at a bunch of PETA activists and calling them the American Beef Council.

Search4Truth, I reiterate my challenges. Chuck Colson has spent over three decades in Christian ministry, so you should have no problem finding evidence if he's what you say he is. Show me where he has ever spoken against the Bible or orthodox Christian doctrine. Show me where he has ever said that the Bible is incomplete and requires supplements. And show me where he was ever endorsed any of Shelby Spong's 12 points, which you cited as "proof" that Colson is a heretic.

Search4Truth is back and still trying to say Chuck Colson works for the Devil. See post 68, and note that it's the only post he posted in a previous Colson thread on 6/17.

I wonder, is there a scarecrow bug in the FR air of late?... So many tinkling tintinnabulations without coherence ... makes you wonder if there's a plot afoot to divide and conquer conservatism prior to the upcoming democrat debacle. Bwuhahahaha, the final demise of the criminal enterprise democrat party cannot come too soon for my taste.
