Whatever. As long as we dispose of the socialist piss hole. And yes, I'd much rather have Alberta, especially with all that oil. But then the Dims. and RINOs would stop all drilling because it might hurt the breeding patterns of a mouse or bat or something.
Dollars to donuts he has Alzheimers, but his puppetmasters wouldn't let him retire. Keeping him on as a benchwarmer for someone else. They will probably make a big deal out of how brave he was all this time to keep his seat in the Senate while battling this disease. Nevermind that he was useless to his constituents.
There are real cowboys in Alberta, too, which means it would probably be a red state.
I guess ol Jumpin Jim got tired of having a bathroom for an office.
Sounds to me as though Jeffords is drawing a paycheck under false pretenses, and that members of his staff are complicit in this fraud upon the taxpayers.
Well, I voted for Jeffords the last time around, because the alternative was a Democrat who was even further to the left.
I had no idea he was going to jump the party, and neither did anyone else. That was the essence of his betrayal, that he ran as a Republican but promptly switched parties after getting elected on false pretenses. Leaving the party and running as a Democrat or independent would have been a whole different matter.
After that betrayal, I certainly wouldn't vote for him again under any circumstances. It sounds as if he has Alzheimer's or something similar. But in any case, after his betrayal I don't know who would vote for him if he had run again. There are, or were, a lot of "Thanks, Jim" bumper stickers in Vermont. But those were all on Democrat cars. Unless he ran on the Democrat ticket, which I doubt they would have offered him, he couldn't possibly have won again. Everyone would have voted against him. No one likes a traitor, not even those who thanked him at the time for his help.
LOL... Yeah, I'm sure the Republicans will get right on Jumpin Jim's farewell bill.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, I'd be surprised if Republicans passed a bill that would put out a fire in Jim's waste basket.
Bernie Sanders is WORSE!!!
Is he gay? How do you know or are you just speculating? I think he has a wife....beard?
It wasn't a week end at Bernies. Apparently it was a weekend far away from prying eyes in Costa Rica
so, bottom line, Vermonters don't HAVE a Junior Senator ... they have a STAFF acting on his (and their) behalf ? Even tho in practice this is true in all 100 Senate offices, in most cases the elected official has some say, gives some direction to that staff. If it were any other state, I guess it would matter. They already have Leahy. Next up: Bernie Sanders. Makes California or New York look good.
What's wrong with the people of New England in general? Is there something in the water? They've elected morons like Dean, Dodd, Jeffords, the Kennedy's, Kerry, Snow, Collins, Chafee, Leahy, etc. Please feel free to add to the list of dolts.
I thought Jeffords was out of it when I first met him in 1987. He is without question the dimmest bulb I have ever know who held any position of importance.
I wish him well in his post-Senate life but he should have left a while ago.
The Peter Principle operates in reverse for politicians
Talk about a "useful idiot".
<< Good riddance to this brain addled dope. His parting shot is to put government deeper into my pocket and deeper into the regulation of business and the economy? Goodbye to bad trash. >>
Hear! Hear!
(Korsokoff's convincingly crumbles another cretin)
No, just the way he acts.
