I had a great time, this was my first real-world encounter with everyone. It was great to see so many people supporting our country and its friends, in such good spirits, despite the adverse condtions of heat and smog. Good to meet all those I met, and I hope I can make it to some more events in the future.

Welcome to FRee Republic.
I'm sorry that I didn't get introduced to you. Are you in any of the pics?
Hope you will be able to make future rallies and our annual picnic.

Amy says there is a troop rally on September 8, and the picnic is on September 9.

It was as Amy said, a "furnace." A time/temperature sign showed 108 but it had to be much hotter on the sidewalk. But, hey, grin and bear it. As Diver Dave posted, he has a nephew serving, and he has to bear this kind of heat on a daily basis. God bless him!

I was listening to the news this morning, and it's a tale of two cities. On FOX they tell about the new round of terrorist rocket attacks, then on CNN they talk about the Lebanese citizens complaining about the way Israel is handling the war. I shake my head still at the kind of coverage CNN provides.

The lady we helped to get her vehicle started called us angels. I can just hear God groaning when this got reported to him that Enterprise was described as an angel. Rolling his eyes, "Oh puhleeze."

Thanks for posting the photos. One captured Don Larsen, a retired City College professor, and frequent political commentator seen on the local stations during elections. The post is moving, and my prayers for your family and friends in harms way.

The middle photo of the man with the "We Stand With Israel" sign is Don Larsen. He is a retired professor and he is often seen on local stations as a political analyst during elections.
