MI5 fears Hezbollah terror attacks in Britain

A British Muslim activist has called on his supporters to help the Iranian-backed terror group Hezbollah overthrow the Israeli Government.

The remarks came as senior security sources told The Mail on Sunday Hezbollah could be preparing reprisal attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets in British cities.

Leading London-based Islamic rights activist Massoud Shadjareh said British Muslims could provide Hezbollah with 'financial, logistical and informational support' to attack Israeli installations.

His Islamic Human Rights Commission called for the occupation of Israel and 'regime change' by Hezbollah on self-defence grounds.

Mr Shadjareh said his organisation was attempting to combat the 'rhetoric coming from the United States and Britain regarding the situation in the Middle East'.

But the US State Department lists Hezbollah as a terror group and its "External Security Organisation' - its terrorist wing - is banned by UK anti-terror laws. Mr Shadjareh said: "We are not supporting or opposing Hezbollah or anybody else."

However, The Mail on Sunday obtained a photograph of him wrapped in a Hezbollah flag at a rally in Trafalgar Square last year. He said: "The wearing of the Hezbollah flag is neither uncommon nor controversial among human rights activists."

Whitehall security sources last night confirmed MI5 and anti-terrorist police were investigating threats to Jewish and Israeli targets in the UK. They fear Hezbollah may resort to a renewed international terror campaign.

In July 1994 the Israeli Embassy in London was car-bombed by two Palestinians linked to Hezbollah. Fourteen people were injured.

Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett told the Commons last week that 'there are indeed concerns' about Iran-backed terrorists attacking the UK. She said: "All I can say is our security services and police are doing everything possible to...ensure that we keep British people as safe as we can."

Tory Homeland Security spokesman Patrick Mercer said: "There is little doubt that we are in danger from Hezbollah. I trust that the Government are more alive to this threat than they have been to other Islamist fundamentalist threats."

Right. Sure thing. Why, Mother Teresa herself used to wrap herself in the Hezbollah flag and shout "Death to the infidels!"

Or maybe it was somebody who only looked like her. Yasser Arafat?

In theory you could eliminate the threat by heaving all the slammites out of England (and France, and the US, and....)

The first sign of sanity -- is when wearing that freaking Hezbollah flag or button gets the wearer arrested as a self avowed terrorist or shot in his tracks for resisting arrest...

Until then --- the war on "terror" is a fraud....

Everything, that is, except deporting the people who pose the gravest danger to the safety of the British people.

The fact that this terrorist cheerleader Massoud Shadjareh, and many others like him, are allowed to go about their business unhindered in England, illustrates a fatal flaw in our free societies here in the West. The enemy within may turn out to be our ultimate undoing.

Mr Shadjareh said: "We are not supporting or opposing Hezbollah or anybody else."

But since Mr. Shadjareh is a habitual liar, the only reasonable way to interpret that statement is that he is really saying "we are supporting Hezbollah and opposing Israel, but we have been warned by our lawyers that actually stating that could cause problems for us, so we will hide behind ambiguous statements as long as possible, until Palestine can be liberated from the Zionists and their American lackeys"...

Well perhaps we in the USA should tell the Brits that profiling is the way we will now go, bugging all mosques and keeping a terror list for all local , state and federal agencies of these murderous Islamofascist. Of course, the Left will be soooooo PC, cry and carp and we will be hit again. Then , they will blame Bush, Reagan, Christians.

well, maybe they should consider rounding some of them up. But I guess that would be too insensitive.

consider that the Brits have done almost nothing to retaliate for the subway bombings - they have basically treated those attacks as just another criminal justice system problem.

My thoughts exactly - we are not serious about the "war on terror" until any association of any sort with any terrorist ideology is relentlessly rooted out. Every terrorist lover must be arrested and prosecuted - yes, merely espousing or advocating the slightest support for terrorists or their ideas should be criminal - everyone who takes the slightest action toward committing a terrorist act must be executed. The survival of civilization and of humanity is at stake.
