I should not have started with the name-calling.

Well, I don't mean to flame you for it. Goodness knows I've called my share of names and more.

My only point is that I'm not a Bush sycophant, yet you lumped me in such a group. I want an Israeli wall, tall and smooth. I would resent very deeply someone who falsely took money implying he would build one, or whose malfeasance/nonfeasance could be used to marginalize the whole Minuteman/Border-wall movement. Similarly, I was opposed to Harriet Miers...I was disgusted by the whole debacle, actually.

I only meant to point out to you that I am at least one "non-sycophant" who is very hot under the collar about the Simcox scenario, and I believe there are others--Gilchrist, Malkin and the WashTimes among them.

The point when I became sickened by all this was the day when I read about the man who mortgaged his house and minutes later when I saw the aerial photos of the fence built at the Memorial Day photo-op. You can imagine I think why someone might be irate.

In response there have been paid lackeys dispatched to the four corners of the cyberglobe to obfuscate and (ironically) stonewall any inquiry. "Attack attack attack!"

It's very Carvillian.

"I don't understand how mentioning that someone may be part of a PR team is tantamount to slander. Can you explain this?
"

Not to be nitpicky, but the word should be libel, not slander. Slander is oral. Libel is written. It's an important distinction.

Constantine is the accountant. I'd guess he earned his 10k.

No wonder you hate the guy.

What makes you think I hate John Cox?

If you look at the AP copy, Kristinn is not mentioned at all. Catholicfreeper added that himself.

I'm guessing that catholicfreeper added that line because it says on the MCDC website that Connie Hair and Kristinn Taylor are the media/PR people for the MCDC.

It's probably a conspiracy.

By the way, I've noticed that you are doing a yeoman's job of keeping this thread bumped, which according to your logic above means that you are helping to trash Simcox.

However, since you've made the claim, could you please find posts/links to prove that I am for open borders, have been against the Minutemen from the beginning, and wanted Harriet Miers to be confirmed? I don't recall ever holding any of those positions, and don't believe you'll find any links to show that I did.

SIMCOX: I find it interesting that somebody would demand that we have to file our books before we’re even required to by the federal government. We will meet all federal regulatory obligations on November 15th, just as all other non-profit organizations are required to do in this country.

John Gibson obviously didn't do his homework, or he'd have been able to point out that the reporting is meant to be done well before the election, and November 15 is only the reporting date if one has filed for TWO three-month extensions.

In other words, that's not when "all the other non-profit organizations are required" to file - it's 6 months after when they should have filed.

Most of those organizations are long-established.

Takes quite a while for new orgs to get their feet under them when it comes to compliance issues.

Victims of their own success, orgs like the Minutemen are...

Most of those organizations are long-established.

They still have the same reporting deadline.

Takes quite a while for new orgs to get their feet under them when it comes to compliance issues.

I thought that's why the Declaration Alliance was helping them out.

Of course, I notice the Declaration Alliance never can get their reports in on time, either. They keep filing those extensions as well.

In other words, that's not when "all the other non-profit organizations are required" to file - it's 6 months after when they should have filed.

From Guidestar:

The filing deadline for Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-PF is "the 15th day of the 5th month after [an] organization's accounting period ends." Thus, if a nonprofit's fiscal year ends on December 31, its 990 will be due May 15 of the following year. If the fiscal year ends on June 30, the 990 due date is November 15.

A nonprofit can get an automatic three-month extension by submitting Form 8868 to the IRS. The organization often can get another three-month extension by submitting a second Form 8868.

Thus, a nonprofit can legitimately file its Form 990 with the IRS 11 months after its fiscal year ends:

Accounting Period 990 Due Date Due Date with 1 Extension Due Date with 2 Extensions
1/1/2003-12/31/2003 5/15/04 8/15/04 11/15/04
7/1/2003-6/30/2004 11/15/04 2/15/05 5/15/05

They keep filing those extensions as well.

There's nothing wrong or illegal about filing extensions with the IRS.

MCDC is part of the Declaration Alliance, which filed its reports last year Nov. 15 after requesting two 3-month extensions, i.e., the reports were actually due May 15.

I didn't say it was illegal, I said it was a bit suggestive to say all non-profits were required to file on that date, when that was only the due date after the two extensions.

Of course, you're saying it's a flat out lie, because you're saying that isn't the due date for every non-profit in the nation, and Simcox said it was.

Having been around these types of orgs for several years I can tell you the main purpose of most of them are to generate revenue for the founders/owners and key figures.

Everything Registered posted is true. It's sick, it's disgusting and IMHO it's fraud.

Everyone does it, right and left, and they all turn a blind eye to each others extravagances because they are all part of the same organized racket. If they're not getting tax money they're fleecing grandma and grandpa out of their life's savings. None of them want the light to shine on any of their ops because it could bring the whole house of cards tumbling down on them all.

All you have to do is follow the money and see what operations they hook up with. Washington is awash in dirty money. They remind me of the pigs in "Lord of the Flies".

And whether or not you want to believe it Tom, you're part of it. You may be ignorant about it but you're a central part of the operation. They have names for people who blindly defend their operations, the people in the trenches taking the arrows...who do so without asking for a dime, but you don't want to know what that is.

Check out this link and tell us what you think about it

Politics is all about money. Align yourself with the right causes and people will think you're a great person and the money will flow in. Then, take more money from special interests and offer favors. Who cares if it flies in th face of everything you've said to "the base". They're stupid and will never find out.

Never mind the man behind the curtain.

But--there is plenty of room on the bandwagon now, so welcome aboard Michelle Malkin!

Michelle Malkin has no credibility at all.
