- I don't want to put words in Ann's mouth but when she said that Bubba was a LATENT homosexual but I don't think she meant that he had ever acted on his latent tendencies, but that his need to seduce every woman he meets is a compulsive form of over compensation to constantly reassure himself that he had no latent attraction to men.

Men raised with out a real father or with a mistreating stepfather have grave doubts about their masculinity. They want to be masculine, but they are not sure they are. They fear they are homosexuals. To prove their masculinity to themselves they try to have sex with every female they can. They may event try to rape some women.

That is latent homosexuality. It does not mean he has sex with males. It is LATENT homosexualtiy.
