Likewise, they are trying consider anti-homosexual sentiments (repeatedly called homophobia) as "overcompensation" for latent homosexuality. What Ann is doing is unknowingly participating in the same game commonly played by gay advocates/activists. That game is trying to find homosexuality where homosexuality doesn't exist.
