Waco Police arrest Secret Service agent
KCEN TV ^ | 07/26/2006

Waco Police tasered and arrested a US Secret Service agent at a downtown Waco bar after a scuffle.

The arrest affidavit say the dispute between the special agent and a bar manager at Crickets all got started.

Police say there were reports that in the early morning hours of July 21, 30-year-old John Scott Lewis was being rude to some customers at Cricket's Bar and Grill.

Lewis is a special agent with the US Secret Service and is from Crofton, Maryland.

The report and Police say Lewis got into an argument with the manager and when the manager asked him to leave, Lewis pushed open the front door so hard it cracked.

Two off-duty Waco officers working security tried to arrest Lewis; he resisted, and was tasered one time.

Lewis was charged with Public Intoxication, Reckless Damage, and Resisting Arrest.

He was treated and released at Hillcrest Hospital and then was booked into the McLennan County Jail.

Lewis posted a 1,000 dollar bond.

Officials with the Waco Secret Service division say they will not comment, and the owner of Cricket's isn't speaking either.

There is nothing remotely Southern about MD & the entire DC metro area.

You are forgetting about MD southeast of Waldorf. Tobacco, Rebel flags, and cars on blocks, all the way to Point Lookout.

The GOVERNMENT of MD is not the people of MD...........If they left their state to fight for the rights of The South, then THEY were Southerners. TODAY's MD is not the same as in 1861. It has more in common with New York than Georgia or Mississippi........I have lived in Glen Burnie and worked in Columbia, MD. It sucked.....

On November, 16, 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th state. Obviously as a federal territory it remained part of the Union.

At the same time the Cherokee nation was allied to the Confederacy. So, whatever you Texas people might think about Oklahoma, the people up there were your allies. Guess that makes it OK to puke on them and deny their war dead in the Civil War had any value.

Nice buncha' people you got there. Now, go back to Mexico until you learn some history of this country.

Yeppers. I now have a headache after reading this article. Thank you...Of course I can't thank anyone because there's no NAME to go with the story. Either they're embarassed, of the reading and writing master has been reassigned to cleaning toilets by the management.

It figures that I have to come upon this right as I'm halfway through the chapter on teachers in, "Godless."

Good grief, the African American community in a great part of Maryland (even the urban areas) is exceedingly Southern in culture and belief.

THIS NEVER WOULD OF HAPPENED IF JOHN KERRY WERE PRESIDENT!

True. The police wouldn't have been tasering anyone before Kerry got to them first.

There's nothing southern about Maryland except southern Maryland. The rest of the state is just plain old yankee, period.

Absolutely true. Maryland is controlled by liberal Dems and resembles Massachusettes in many respects.

If you want to turn this into a "hate Yankees" thread, I have to ask "Is this an example of fine Southern writing and editing?"

That link doesn't work, are you trying to convince us that Maryland was a Confederate state instead of a Union state?

Or that there was cross over among the populace of many states, where some citizens moved to the other sides army?

Glen Bernie and Columbia are new additions. Back on the block, they are still considered to be "outsiders". Down at St. Mary's, I suspect they simply aren't thought of.

In NYC, I'd recommend anything that says "mercado". Be careful, though, because the labels on rough ground yellow corn are very similar to those on grits.

Or, if you look around you'll find the grits in sheet form from Columbia. They are readily re-heated in a toaster.
