France offers new UN resolution on Israel-Hizbullah ceasefire

France has drawn up a draft UN Security Council resolution that would call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Israel and Lebanon and prepare for the deployment of an international force.

The document, distributed to the 15 Security Council members on Saturday and obtained by Reuters, anticipates a draft resolution the United States is planning that would place up to 20,000 peacekeepers along Lebanon's borders with Israel and with Syria. (Reuters)

Will the French be wearing yellow outfits and carrying white flags?

>>However, Rice did note that the Lebanese and French armies would deploy along the Syrian-Lebanese border to the east, as well as along the southern border with Israel.<<

Better them than us.

If Hezbollah is not chased through Syria to the Iranian centrifuges and all three not destroyed, this opportunity will be lost.

The balance of power will be changed in the middle east.

France, Lebanon to deploy to border with Israel

Will the French troops be bringing their own rockets to fire into Israel, or using Hezbollah's rockets?

Now the only thing left is to stop the rocket attacks, and secure them. Piece of cake.

"The French and Lebanese armies will take part in the multinational peacekeeping force expected to take position along the southern Lebanese border, it was revealed following a meeting between US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem."

This is absurd, the French will come equipped with white flags, they can't even control riots in their own country. What in Gods name will they be able to protect on the Lebanese boarder? Amen.

I'm sure Hezbollah is quaking in their sheets. If having the IDF cavorting among them hasn't been sufficiently impressive, I sort of doubt they are much worried about the French. If the Lebanese Army worried them, they'd be holed up in Syria, or at least in the Syrian end of the Beka Valley.
