France offers new UN resolution on Israel-Hizbullah ceasefire
France has drawn up a draft UN Security Council resolution that would call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Israel and Lebanon and prepare for the deployment of an international force.
The document, distributed to the 15 Security Council members on Saturday and obtained by Reuters, anticipates a draft resolution the United States is planning that would place up to 20,000 peacekeepers along Lebanon's borders with Israel and with Syria. (Reuters)

Will the French be wearing yellow outfits and carrying white flags?
>>However, Rice did note that the Lebanese and French armies would deploy along the Syrian-Lebanese border to the east, as well as along the southern border with Israel.<<
Better them than us.
I wonder how many Hezbo's there are in the Lebanese Army.
Could we get this into the breaking news column.?
I can't wait to see the Frenchies in action. There will be more people tuning in to see that than the damn Olympics.
French Plan For Securing Israeli/Lebanese Border
The Maginollah Line
A series of fortified emplacements along 40% of the border. Armaments and equipage will include:
1. Combat Grade Baguette Ovens
2. Swivel Mounted Machine Guns cooled by surplus French Wine
3. Exits on both sides so French Soldiers can run away from more efficiently.
4. Surplus Underground Tram Line taken from Euro Disney.
5. Frog Tags pre-encoded with military secrets to save time in event of capture.
6. Hybrid Tanks flame-proof with four gears (you know the rest of this joke)
7. French M.R.E.'s with dehydrated Escargot
8. Water efficiency enhanced by no showers.
9. Pornographic Postcards in Arabic, for trading.
10. Inflatable soldiers to prop up in emplacements to buy time for real ones to run away in conjunction with item 3.
Which side is France on?
If Hezbollah is not chased through Syria to the Iranian centrifuges and all three not destroyed, this opportunity will be lost.
The balance of power will be changed in the middle east.
Will the French troops be bringing their own rockets to fire into Israel, or using Hezbollah's rockets?

Precisely what I predicted would happen........last week.

"That leaves France. Lebanon was French for a long time after WW I ...... France needs a role to play to regain it's lost status. France has a large lebanese population. France has been accepted by the GCC. France is therefore elected. "
Now the only thing left is to stop the rocket attacks, and secure them. Piece of cake.
Wow.. lets get Iran and Syria to contribute a peacekeeping force too... and then the neo-nazi's and Louis Farrakhan while we're at it....
French troops? French targets.
I'm sure Hezbollah is quaking in their sheets. If having the IDF cavorting among them hasn't been sufficiently impressive, I sort of doubt they are much worried about the French. If the Lebanese Army worried them, they'd be holed up in Syria, or at least in the Syrian end of the Beka Valley.
