The anesthesiologist could go a long way with just a little added succynlcholine (paralyzing agent) and it would be nearly impossible to trace. If this man dies, I hope the Bush administration will send an envoy the day after the funeral and propose Raul open the country up and develope a constitutional republican form of government, and a capitalist based economy. The Cubans would be extremely prosperous and happy again.

You're right, any abdominal surgery at 80 is dicey. Actually ANY surgery at that age is not good. So many complications. I knew a man who was hale and hearty at 80, went in for relatively minor elective surgery, had a stroke and died.

I remember in the early 80's. Granted I was 11 or 12. But I remember when Breshnev, chernenko and whatever the other guys name was. Actually i think he was between Breshnev and Chernenko. Andropov? Perhaps. Any way I remember that it seemd the leader was dead for a t least a solid day or 2 before we knew.

I was about the same age. I remember my 7th grade Social Studies teacher saying that reports of Russian radio playing funeral music meant that somebody important had died.
