Iran's President Rejects U.N. Resolution

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday rejected a U.N. Security Council resolution that would give his nation until Aug. 31 to suspend uranium enrichment. Instead, Ahmadinejad insisted Tehran would pursue its nuclear program.

"My words are the words of the Iranian nation. Throughout Iran, there is one slogan: 'The Iranian nation considers the peaceful use of nuclear fuel production technology its right,'" Ahmadinejad said.

The Security Council passed a resolution Monday calling for Iran to suspend uranium enrichment by the end of August or face the threat of economic and diplomatic sanctions.

Ahmadinejad said Iran will not give in to threats from the United Nations.

"If some think they can still speak with threatening language to the Iranian nation, they must know that they are badly mistaken," he said in a speech broadcast live on state-run television.

Ok, but eventually we're going to pursue our nuclear solution to Iran's nuclear program.

This is great. Now we get to see the UN in action...er..inaction, I mean.

The UN will now meet to discuss the potential for ameeting in order to decide on what actions must be taken to propose a resolution that would warn Iran with stronger language.

"My words are the words of the Iranian nation. Throughout Iran, there is one slogan: 'The Iranian nation considers the peaceful use of nuclear fuel production technology its right,'" Ahmadinejad said.

Well, since he truly believes that the only way to world peace is through the destruction of Israel, his words make total sense. There's also his obsession with the return of the Mahdi, who he believes will usher in the time of world peace. There must be a period of chaos and destruction before that happens, however, according to his mad "theology".

So as far as he's concerned, attacking Israel with nuclear weapons really is a "peaceful use of nuclear fuel production technology."

He must be stopped.

The UN has proven itself to be irrelevant. They can pass as many resolutions as they want but they will be ignored like most of them are. Russia and China will never go along with sanctions so everyone is wasting their time. It is time for the US to get out of the UN and stop sending American taxpayer dollars to support our enemies!

You are exactly right. Ahmadinejad know this, that is what is great about this; once again the UN will show its uselessness. When a nuke supplied by Iran is detonated in Tel Aviv, a military base in Iraq, or an American city, maybe the US will pull her head out of her a-- and kick the UN out of New York!

As it stands now, I doubt it. As it stands now, we do not have the moral will to win this war.

It is going to take three things to happen for us to get that will:

1. A devestating attack upon the continental United States.

2. Get effective leaders that know what needs to be done and will lead in doing it.

3. Hang, deport, or imprison the termites that are destroying the morale of this Nation from within.

Time for a preemptive strike as Iran has admitted per this article:

Maybe the UN can invoke international law.

Oh, wait, there's no such thing as international law.

But, since Iran tells the US what to do, is it not fair--playground law--for the US to tell Iran what to do?

Hey! Forget resolutions...how about:

I suggest the UN resort to putting panties on the head for Iran's President Alma-needajob while at the same time he is bombarded with non-stop elevator music from the 70's, followed by repeat commercials of the Oxy-Clean man shouting at top volume, followed by......(your suggestion)

You jumped the gun. First, they meet to discuss the meeting to discuss the potential for ameeting in order to decide on what actions must be taken to propose a resolution that would warn Iran with stronger language, after they meet for discussions. Oh.., and there is that little issue of their peacekeepers raping the local populace. Is that part of the blue helmets' per diem?
