I'd like to see everyone go through Basic Training, or some variant thereof, as a prerequisite to voter registration.

In today's legal environment, you're correct. It's what I'd like, not what I expect. I think the logistics could be made similar to summer school.

Sure. such a program would require a constitutional amendment, -- but it would be worth the 'hurdles'..

A ~voluntary~ 3/6 month indoctrination in the military arts & our Constitution would make quite a difference in 18 year old lives.


No commitment to citizenship, no vote in national elections...
