So Charlie is going to the voters and telling them he might resign right after re-election. I know that Rangel has held this seat since Bella Abzug, but do the Republicans even bother running a candidate against this guy?

These guys have been out of the loop for so long, they can't stand it anymore. I bet that a lot of them take the long walk along with Charlie after my tag-line is realized this Fall. The Republicans are going to pick up two (2) seats in the Senate and four (4) seats in the House in the Fall elections. This is going to push folks like Rangel right over the edge.

I would donate a month's salary if there was a guarantee that he would leave.

'Cause you'll be paying a heck of a lot more than that in taxes if he stays!

Rangel is a Congressman, and therrefore there would be a special election.

That's good, because Mark Green really, really needs a job!

I always thought he was rather crude.

The NYS Republican Party? I think they even endorse him and he runs on both lines. I could be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me.
