You do agree that the author of this piece is trying to smear Israel with the phony use of that verse, yes?

That should've been "a sign-up date of only a couple of months old", not "days". Sheesh!

I read the entire thread and don't think aerotsmith should have been "zotted." They were defending a talking points of our "foes". I have never reported abuse on anyone. I consider political debate as sometimes a bare knuckle blood sport, and if you can't take a few punches, you should be hanging out on a gardening or tea site. :)

I'm really trying hard here. Yes, war is terrible. Yes, it's terrible when children are hurt or killed. I don't think these are controversial notions. As far as I can tell, only a muslim or supporter of Planned Parenthood would disagree.
Shall I post a rant about how lovely a blue sky and a cool breeze are? Why are we stating the obvious and simple?
IMHO our time would be better spent discussing the dreadful moral truth that sometimes starting a terrible war today will prevent an even worse disaster tomorrow. If we just wring our hands and babble about how awful what we have NOW is, we may forget that worse things are possible.
Or am I missing something?

Jesus made no allowances for 'Collateral Damage' or 'Tragic Mistakes,' all too common during a bloody war.Jesus lived in a time when wars were fought with honor on a recognized battlefield between opposing armies. The terrorists of today deliberately put children in front of them as human shields.

I feel the same. I didn't report this poster. The mods apparently came to their own conclusion. But I did feel that they were trolling. Their talking point was "mistakes aren't allowed",at least by Israel.

It seems to me that "offending the little ones" would include strapping suicide belts on them and sending them to Israeli pizza parlors.
Arafat and his ilk had over FORTY YEARS in which to train two generations on how to kill both themselves and others to get what they want. When mothers are proud that their sons blew themselves up and killed little children at the same time, how can we reason with these people?
At some point the only language they'll understand is moment of silence before the daisycutter hits.

And why was it OK when Nasrallah the butcher nonchalantly called the two little Israeli Arab boys who were killed "martyrs"? And why didn't the Muslim hordes consider the children at Qana "martyrs",then? They were proud when they killed the two little boys in Israel, saying that they died for allah,so you'd think just to be consistent, they'd be "proud" of all the martyrs they created by holding helpless children hostage from a rocket-launching site.

'But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.'I doubt that these children believed in Him, but the offense is no less detestable.

These terrorists -- butchers, really -- have no regard for their own lives or the lives of other muslims. Why should we expect them to have respect for others, especially infidels?
The rot goes to the core with Islam.

I don't think so; he clearly reserved his harsh condemnation for Hezbollah. I think he is just a little naive--perhaps he leans toward Christian pacifism--and he tries to imply that God is never pleased with war, but leaves it at that, without addressing the necessary issue of whether wars may be justified.
I also think his interpretation of the verse is off, but again, I think this is more naivety than a deliberate attempt to smear Israel. Clearly, he strongly attacks Hezbollah, while only slightly implying that Israel might deserve some blame. He's wrong, perhaps, but not an Israel-hater.

You have the right to your opinion, as do I. My faith is deeper than your argument.
