On the one hand, liberals enjoy portraying themselves as models of tolerance and racial sensitivity. But woe betide someone who runs afoul of their orthodoxy. Liberals don't hesitate to bring out the crudest racial imagery to mock them.
We've all seen the vulgar caricatures of Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice and Ward Connerly.
Add Joe Lieberman to the liberal media hit list. Have a look at the image of Lieberman that popped up at Huffington Post today. It's in a column by one Jane Hamsher, who, her bio informs us, is a 'progressive blogger.'
Guess being progressive means never having to say you're sorry for resorting to this kind of stuff to make a political point.

The socialists are vile in their propaganda (whether they be Nazi, Communist, or Green).
"Diversity" and "Tolerance" are words used to sell their brand of thought control. They do not actually embrace those principles. If you oppose their political agenda, you are "the enemy" and can be depicted in an ugly fashion regardless of what you might think their "rules" say about such depictions.
They aim low because they are slime.

I've often wondered what it would be like to go through life with absolutely no sense of shame, no decency, no decorum, and not a shred of dignity. Now I understand all I have to do is change my voter registration to "Democrat" and I can have all that with no apparent consequences whatsoever.

Ok, I have to ask, because it's driving me nuts (and if I am betraying my ignorance here, I welcome correction).
How is Jane Hamsher (whose colum featured this "graphic") different from Mel Gibson?

And for some reason, the first thing that comes to mind is the blackface scene from "The Jazz Singer" starring Neil Diamond.
Leaving aside the image's vulgarity for the moment, just what was the message supposed to be? Lieberman as slave? But in announcing that he will run even if he loses the primary, Lieberman is acting very independently. He is being the diametrical opposite of someone who slavishly follows another's orders. Indeed, the Dems complaint is that he is NOT taking orders from his Dem masters! So on top of everything else, the image is just plain dumb.
Even by the low standards of Ned Lamont supporters, this is appalling, and something the Connecticut Ping List will have plenty to post about.
