Summary of IDF operations against Hizbullah in Lebanon 3 Aug 2006
(Communicated by IDF Spokesman)
Over the past day, IDF infantry, armored and engineering forces operated in southern Lebanon. The forces positioned themselves in the areas of Mis el Jabal, Mahibab Blida, Shihin, Rajmil and Majdal Zun, in the eastern part of southern Lebanon. At the same time, IDF forces established positions in the villages of Al Teibeh, Al Adeisa, Rab A-Tiltin, Aita a-Shaab and Maroun A-Ras and Bint Jbeil.
Yesterday evening an IDF soldier was killed and four more were wounded in exchanges of fire in the village of Aita A-Shaab. An IDF soldier was severely wounded and two soldiers were lightly wounded in the village of Mahbib.
In fighting throughout the day, IDF forces killed approximately 35 armed Hizbullah terrorists, and wounded numerous other Hizbullah terrorists.
In the area of Bint Jbeil, IDF forces identified and destroyed a vehicle carrying a Hizbullah missile launcher. Additional weapons were discovered by the force, including 10 assault rifles in the area around the village of Sheihin.
During the night the IDF carried out more than 120 aerial attacks in Lebanon:
6 missile launchers, including launchers used for long-range attacks against Afula and Haifa.
35 Hizbullah buildings, storage facilities and headquarters
Areas used to launch rocket into Israel, and roads and bridges leading to those areas.
A vehicle identified transporting weapons.
Thank you sir.
Thanks again Karl
Many thanks Karl

"Israeli artillery shells earlier exploded in the hills of southern Lebanon, sometimes as many as 15 per minute. The military said its aircraft were hitting Hezbollah targets all over the country."
15 per minute, that'll clear out some land.
What an excellent job you do with these threads.
After the war I nominate you to do the "what can we do to defeat the 5th column threads"?

I was all of 10 or 11 when that song was going around...and it stuck in my mind. Very acidy. I liked the music of it then. Sort of went out of my mind. Then one day, my hubby who's a big Donovan fan mentioned a line from the song, and I managed to pull all the lyrics back up. Amazing what gets stored in the brain like that....
Careful, she might hear ya!

Does that mean he plans on returning the hostages they have? Assuming they are still in Lebanon and alive.
Good morning Karl!
Well, looks like lights out for Hezbullah.

Isn't it odd that there have been no videos of long lines of refugees (Lebanese)? Are the hezzabaloos keeping them from leaving (which would seem normal) or are they really putting their money where their mouths are and sticking with the terrorists?
Combat soldiers are a special breed.
"Israel captured five and killed 10 terrorists".
Dio, you don't have the lingo down yet. Terrorists are civilians(mostly women and children). Terrorists seldom die.
I know what you mean.
(looks like we're about the same age)
I say lets embed them with the hezzies, coverage probably wouldn't change very much, if at all, though.

Thanks for the new thread Karl

In Tyre, south Lebanon, Hizb'allah and UN terrorists fire missiles at, and murdering, Israeli civilians.
The UN is/was silent. Why not? They share bunkers with the terrorists.
The EU is/was silent. Why not? It is their way and their history. A bad moon is rising.
In Tyre, south Lebanon, Israeli air retaliation against terrorists near the village of Bayada.
But I felt more like a klutz...
I guess I'm being too curious, does anyone know what that value is?
Where did you get the pics? They are very good.

I see some of that on CNN. Twenty people in a farmer's hay wagon, a family and their goats, that kind of stuff. Not hundreds and hundreds a huge line though. Looks as orderly as something like that could be, I guess.
