Very detailed military analysis, you forgot to include Russia. Nobody talks about Russia? They are supplying Iran's nuclear capability. There are Russian nuclear scientists in Iran right now, enabling Iran. Russia is not an ally, and we better wake up and take note of it!!

One can count our actual allies in the WOT on just one hand and not use all the fingers of that hand.

Nothing Ann Compton said made any sense whatsoever. It seems that President Bush is failing, in her opinion, because he has not had a major press conf. lately, just some small ones.

She is a victim of tunnel vision, as are all the WH Press Corps. Of course, that is Bush's fault too, since the White House has forced them to exist in the dreadful catacomb called the Press Room.

Sure, and I expect nothing but absolute crap from Biden.

But Newt is showing just why he's that much smaller a man than President Bush (I'm watching him an hour later).

He agrees with "almost everything" in Biden's analysis? What a gutless jackass!

He can take on President Bush from a distance, but he can't take Joe Biden on to his face without playing up to him.

Utterly pathetic.

Rice did a great job this morning....she is getting much more comfortable on camera- no doubt.....she has always been brilliant- and it shows ever time she speaks.

Did you see the segment when the 3 "Friends" asked Alexander Haig.............

Haig did GREAT- but I thre projectiles at our "FOX Friends"..........STUPID QUESTIONS! Their questions were like something my 5 yr old daughter would ask....

"But if Hezbullah won't disarm, and nobody will make them, shouldn't we call a ceasefire and TALK to them?"

WHAT the HECK are they doing with their day? What the HECK do they think is going on?

Israel IS DISARMING THEM! but everyone seems to be wanting them to STOP disarming them and TALK instead.....while Hezbullah rebuilds their weapons for a more "effective" war next time....and YOU- yes YOU- the MEDIA are breathing LIFE SUPPORT INTO THE ENEMY!

Every time you and the leftists open your mouths- you plant it firmly on the lips of the enemy and give the terrorists CPR........

It is DISGUSTING to watch- and frankly very FRIGHTENING to the rest of us who would rather NOT WEAR BURKAS for the rest our lives......!

You haven't been paying attention to what they've been saying and doing, particularly Ahmadinejad in Iran.

Charles Krauthammer has it summarized well in this column from last December.  Here's an excerpt:

In Iran, Arming for Armageddon

... So a Holocaust-denying, virulently anti-Semitic, aspiring genocidist, on the verge of acquiring weapons of the apocalypse, believes that the end is not only near but nearer than the next American presidential election. (Pity the Democrats. They cannot catch a break.) This kind of man would have, to put it gently, less inhibition about starting Armageddon than a normal person. Indeed, with millennial bliss pending, he would have positive incentive to, as they say in Jewish eschatology, hasten the end...

Another source I'd suggest is MEMRI.ORG.  They do a good job.

Since I'm married to someone who belongs to a faith (Baha'i) that comes from that region and is viewed as heretical by these folks I've been paying attention to what they say and do for a long time.  I have a large number of Persian (note, not Iranian) friends who have fled that country so I also have direct sources of information.  I also have a Lebanese American friend who's family was fairly high up in the Maronite Christian community and part of the Christian militia, the SLA.  He still has relatives over there so he's feeding me first hand reports from there, as well.

The Jihadis are not in touch with the same reality you and I are.  And they're acquiring the means to do something about it.

That's possible, but I think the opposite may be true, at least in some cases

I live in the DC area. The WP has endorsed Lieberman and many of the WP columnists are wringing their hands about how terribly Lieberman has been treated. Cohen, Broder, et. al., don't agree with the demonization of Lieberman. Today, even Robert Kagan came out supporting Lieberman, calling him "the last honest man."

The NYT has endorsed Lamont. The MSM is split, but leaning towards Lieberman. The Hartford Courant (largest paper in the state and 54th largest in the US) and the Connecticut Post also back Lieberman.

I do not see that an independant win by Lieberman will help the Republicans ...

It helps the Republicans because he will not be counted as a Democrat in taking over the Senate and therefore the committee chairmanships.

I agree in that point but in actual voting in the House on all issues apart from WOT I see him voting with the Dems.

That's not actually true. It depends on what you mean by "allies" if you count people with troops in the field along side the US we have almost everyone in Nato and a number of other countries.. IF you mean Govts that actively cooperate with us in Terrorist suppression efforts via Intelligence and police cooperation, lots and lots and lots. If you define allies as Foreign Govt that will blindly follow orders from the US Government we have Zero.

If Lieberman joins the Dem caucus ala Jeffords, I believe that he will be included in the Dem numbers for control of the Senate.

Now that LIEberman has come out and demanded Rumsfeld's resignation, I despise him all the more.

I hope he loses!

Good point I assume the rules are the same as with our hung Parliament rules if you are an Independant or part of a minority party you can form a alliance with one of the majority parties in order for them to achieve overall control.

The MSM is caught between two impossible scenarios.

The dems NEED the jewish vote. If LIEBerman is defeated because of his support for the WOT, then the jewish vote may abandon the democrats.

The MSM would rather have Lamont but they know the unintended consequences may hurt their party.

The Mullahs want to win but they want to LIVE to win. They are more then willing to expend peons as suicide bombers, they are NOT interested in BEING the suicide bombers.

You assume wrong.

Most of them are waiting with baited-breath for the 12th Imam... the rest are actively bringing about his return. What you're dealing with is potentially far more dangerous than Nazi-Germany or Imperial Japan. The conquest of western civilization was their goal... not its elimination.

We're facing a world-wide religion that's morphed into a 5th century death-cult.

The MSM is terribly afraid that Dr. Rice will run for President. Therefore, they keep up a relentless attack on her accomplishments, constantly denigrating her abilities.

I don't think that's really a case the MSM being divided.

As obnoxious, anti-conservative, anti-Republican and anti-Bush as the Washington Post is, it's always taken a more moderate, intelligent line than the the New York Times, LA TImes, USA Today, Time, CNN, Newsweek, the alphabet channels, etc.

But I don't think Washington Post or Mickey Kaus style Democrats have a constituency any more, even in the media. The columnists for the WP may not agree with demonizing Lieberman, but I think even that will change for most of them (Kagan excluded, since he isn't a leftist) after he loses the primary before the general election occurs--- just a guess.
