I would rather see Lieberman get defeated soundly by the +/-25% of the Conn. population that call themselves Democrats. Then, running as an independent, Lieberman can win because of the +/-50% of the Conn. population that are registered Independents.

The message would be: Hard core left can win primaries, but moderate, more conservative views are electable come November.

She diesn't need 40% of the electorate. Bill won with only 43% of the vote. It's very dangerous to underestimate her. Remember, Bill Clinton will be out there campaigning for his "third term," and there are still plenty of people who would love to vote for him.
