'Times' War Photos Artfully Staged, Directed

Reuters, you are not alone. The news agency fired a photographer this weekend after it became clear that he had doctored war photos from Lebanon, but it would seem that Reuters isn't the only respectable news organization with this problem. While not quite so stupid as to get sloppy with Photoshop, Tyler Hicks of the venerable New York Times has some questionable work of his own. In this photo, a man appears to be pulling a remarkably un-dusty, possibly dead man from wreckage in Tyre -- note the victim's shorts and his hat, which is conveniently tucked to his side. But in the later photos (after the jump), un-dusty possibly dead man seems to be doing just fine.

Although this comes from a NYC gossip website, the story is accurate. The Times issued a correction on the caption of the photo http://www.nytimes.com/ref/pageoneplus/corrections.html - and a pretty weak one at that. It appears that photo altering/staging is likely the norm in the MSM.

The palis are also masters of intricately directed and performed set pieces along the same lines.

...and our vaunted main stream media sups up this drek!

ruefully

You can't have this many fake photos by accident. They surely knew they were publishing fiction.

Isn't that what the Times does on a daily basis? ;)

He's not dead. He's just pining for the fjords.

I don't get why the rescuer is pulling on the supposedly injured (previously dead) guy's arm. He is not going to pull him out over that chunk of concrete. And if the injured guy is supposed to be unconscious, his muscles don't look relaxed enough.

He collapsed in the rubble holding his hat. That's what I'd grab in the event of an air strike. :)

The new caption from the NY Times is preposterous - does anyone actually believe that the guy had "fallen" and was not "playing dead"???? His eyes are closed, his head lies back as though lifeless, and he is not helping himself or his rescuer in any way, he is just lying their limp and pretending to be D-E-A-D...... no, the Times has been caught up in an obvious fraud again, and can't seem to come clean.

Original news photo shows soldier helping an elderly man.

After applying the MSM Photoshop war filter, the photo shows soldier kicking the poor elderly man.
