Wow, that place is just chocked full of terror, isn't it?

No way anybody can convince me this isn't all connected somehow.

The TSA website headlines that their employees are reporting an increase in job satisfaction.
Good to see they aren't hiding their true motivations, and posting worthless stories such as this.
I was aghast last week watching these fools doing the full body search/scan and bomb sniff on an elderly gentleman in a wheelchair. This about a month after these scumbags let a muslim with HOLLOWED OUT shoe soles, with a Koran who lied about having a laptop onboard his flight. Probably holding up the flight an hour to make sure he got on.
I spoke with one of these fools and pointedly addressed this farcical stupidity, telling him he sould be ASHAMED of himself.
I can't help keep being reminded that these morons had no job/future of any consequence that they could/would keep prior to 911. But the TSA was their savior, offering a federal job with all associated securities eliminating any fear of being fired for incompetence or wreckless jeopardizing of the security of others.
Just damn!

U.S. raises threat level in response to British threat
The Associated Press, Aug. 10, 2006

WASHINGTON

The U.S. government raised its threat level to the highest level for commercial flights from Britain to the United States early Thursday in response to a reported terror plot in London and also stepped up the general level for all flights within the U.S. or entering the country.

"We believe that these arrests (in London) have significantly disrupted the threat, but we cannot be sure that the threat has been entirely eliminated or the plot completely thwarted," said Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff in announcing that the threat level for flights from Britain to the United States has been raised to the highest "severe or red" level.

"To defend further against any remaining threat from this plot, we will also raise the threat level to High, or Orange, for all commercial aviation operating in or destined for the United States," Chertoff said.

I was in an especially pensive mood,

Hi Patty, same here but have tried to put it off on other things....yes, including the full moon. :o)

Right now, I say God bless Great Britain for saving us from disaster here at home. We may have missed this bullet but there are others.

"I've always thought a buddy system was a good idea. Everyone watching the people sitting beside them. I guess 2 terrorist next to each other wouldn't work though."

Let's take that a step further...how about instituting random seating in addition to a "buddy" system? One would get a seat number literally as one entered the plane - no complaints - take it or leave it. Any earlier and people would try to trade.

You could have your boarding pass ahead in order to pass security and get to the gate, but no advance seat number; they would be generated randomly.

So what if couples don't get to sit together? No necessity there.

The only people that would need to sit together would be an infant or young child up to the age of perhaps 10 and one of his parents. The other parent would sit elsewhere. The number of accompanying young children would be divided by the number of parents and one group of kids would seat in the seats near each parent.

No trading of seats would be allowed.

Occasionally two people travelling together might wind up together under this system, but the chances would be slim. Terrorists surely could not count on it.

A ticket holding slot (as on a train) could be added to seats so one's ticket number plastic row and seat designator permanently printed in large characters - the one that was given to you when you entered the plane - would need to be displayed for the flight attendants and other passengers to see.

No more concept of the early bird getting the best seat. Getting a window or aisle seat is not a life or death matter, but increasing the odds of getting there is.

"He went down on Memorial Day with four officers and one enlisted on board. He volunteered for the mission."

I am proud to correspond with the mother of a hero. May God bless you and ease your loss. I have a nephew landing in Kuwait today on his way to Iraq. He is a record breaking sniper and I am very proud of him. He knows his risks and he volunteered to serve. He has attended military academies since he was 11 and this is the day he can fulfill his dream. He called me last night as he flew out and I told him, "others in the family will tell you to keep you head down and come back in one piece, but I know your skill... so have fun and make me proud."

God Bless you and your family.

If I was the POTUS, I would tell the Iranian leader that I would not hesitate turning Iran into a vast wasteland of glowing green glass if we found out he was behind any plans to attack America

Heck, Mike, he already knows they are involved. He has already let them know the green glass is in the future. And he also knows, THEY DON'T CARE.

I'm having a difficult time with those missing "students" too. Haven't heard a thing about them since the three were apprehended.

Me too. It hits pretty close to home. Among alot of reasons, we left South Mpls because of my bad vibes.

There's close to 50,000 Somalis/East African/Oromos living in Minnesota, mostly Muslim. We have the biggest immigrant population per capita in the U.S.

Thank you Minnesota Leftists.

That's just horridly stupid and totally unnecessary.

I was almost subjected to a seach last week... but the second time I went thru, my gold bracelets did not set off the alarm.
