CNN's Anderson Cooper refutes AP SVP on staging
The American Thinker ^ | 8/10/06 | Ed Lasky

Anderson Cooper of CNN, via The Corner:

While on the Hezbollah side, it’s really interesting — I was in Beirut, and they took me on this sort of guided tour of the Hezbollah- controlled territories in southern Lebanon that were heavily bombed. They are much cruder, obviously. They don’t have the experience in this kind of thing. But they clearly want the story of civilian casualties out. That is their — what they’re heavily pushing, to the point where on this tour I was on, they were just making stuff up. They had six ambulances lined up in a row and said, OK, you know, they brought reporters there, they said you can talk to the ambulance drives. And then one by one, they told the ambulances to turn on their sirens and to zoom off, and people taking that picture would be reporting, I guess, the idea that these ambulances were zooming off to treat civilian casualties, when in fact, these ambulances were literally going back and forth down the street just for people to take pictures of them.

I really think Anderson Cooper is a nice guy. Is he a liberal dupe? Yes, sometimes, but its good to know he sees right through these Hezbo b@stards and has decided not to be their media pawn and for that, I'm grateful.

That's good news. During World War II we had a bunch of liberals that actually started taking America's side. Maybe history is repeating itself.

Check out the other article:

The image war is totally in Hezbulla's hands. Like who exactly has footage of their methods of shooting these katushkas into Israel? No one. They've worked out this very efficient method of having 3 people on a team, meet, put the pieces together, shoot, and disappear long before the Israelis come 15 minutes later and bomb the location.
They show up as innocent sheep herders and victims, when all their war dead are ONLY due to defensive moves, and ALL their rockets target innocents. It's mindboggling the laziness of the average mind.

Yep. Watch the video at this link. The first part is about LGF and the doctored photos, then a piece with Kurtz (I think) and Anderson Coopers' part is at the end.

There is tremendous credibility now attached to showing the hezzie agitprop is staged and fake. Cooper is trying to reap here. It'll be nice if they get in a feeding frenzy and eat their own.

That's what's so incredible about his post. He's too big, especially now, to ignore. And he doesn't leave any room for interpretation.

I don't want to be too optimistic, but here's the old way of becoming a GREAT JOURNALIST:

Wipe away a tear on live TV when you have to tell the country that our president (JFK) is dead.
Tell the nation, in a sad and resigned tone, that the Vietnam War is unwinnable.

That's what made Walter Cronkite the GREATEST JOURNALIST EVER.

If I were a journalist today, and I saw which way the wind was blowing, I would start poignantly speaking out in support of Western Civilization. It's a risky strategy, but if you set a national tone, you can become a GREAT JOURNALIST. I say we are at a tipping point, and a journalist of some stature who is the first to come out and say some of this stuff, can really become an icon. I mean it.

Thanks for the link. Yes, Nic Robertson was the other CNN reporter who said they could only see what Hezbollah wanted them to see in Lebanon, and they thought much of it was staged.

CNN has been reporting for some time that Israel allows the press much more freedom, and they only get the pics Hezbollah wants them to have from Lebanon.

Is tit just me? Or, lately, am I catching subtle nuances about stuff being offered up for consideration by the public at large in accordance to the Free Republic mission? Is it just me? Or seems it to you too that the focus of interest has changed, while and albeit subtely, quite profoundly, over the last few hours.

We must not be sidetracked by what appears to be emerging imbroglio...

Our focus (and resolve) must never be shaken (despite a magnitude 9 earthquack in Demokratisch Peoples Republik KaliforNia). We must remain steadfast, keep our nose to the eightball, and eyes on the hot-potatoe, eh?

Today is no doubt a very interesting day, however, it is my firm belief that we (as FreeRepublic.com) should ignore them (lest we lose focuse on the issue and sight of our quarrey). They're trying to run, obfuscate, and some other stuff too.

I'm just talkin' here: but what I'm perceiving is what is known as "circling the wagons". We should be the banshee's hootin' it up (and not being distracted by "stuff"). The banshee's should disappear into the night too. Let 'em waste heartbeats trying to figure out what's up, where'd they go? "Man they are so dastardly. I heard they eat their kids. Yeah, I'm going to do a show on that. You go Cronkite, you go maaaaaan. I certainly wouldn't want to cross them bloggers. You know what I heard? Somebody accused them of being ignorant and stupid, and they brought Dan Rather down. Mary Mapes still does therapy all these years later, I [defecate] you not.".

We must remain vigilant, we must not be deceived by the "fog" that they're trying to bring down onto the situation. We must rise above, we must put on our cloaks (er, pajamas), we must be The Avenger.

The question is why did it take you weeks to cough up this furrball?

People, pay attention. His report is at least two weeks old.
