Iraqi police arrest 20 al-Qaida members

Iraq's National Security adviser Mouwaffak al-Rubaie has announced the arrest of 20 suspected al-Qaida members across the country in the past few days.

Speaking to reporters and police commanders in Baghdad, al-Rubaie first announced that 17 leaders of al-Qaida had been arrested, while one was killed during the round up.

It is believed the news of the three last arrests came after he made the statement.

Al-Rubaie said the detainees included five top al-Qaida militants arrested in Baghdad. He announced their names and showed photographs identifying the five.

He also detailed a new Baghdad security plan that is backed by US troops.

"There are more than 13,000 Iraqi National Police and 22,000 Iraqi local policemen deployed in Baghdad alone," said al-Rubaie.

In addition to these figures, the US has sent in an estimated 3,700 soldiers from the northern Iraqi province of Nineveh to bolster security operations in the capital.

"Iraq's National Security adviser Mouwaffak al-Rubaie has announced the arrest of 20 suspected al-Qaida members across the country in the past few days."

And yet still the official policy of the Democrat party in America is to deny the obvious - that the war in Iraq is part of the war on terrorism.

Can you imagine Rangel as House Chair on Security? BTW, would it not be refreshing if the Iraqui military shot all those Al Q's on public TV?? I wonder if Al Q might see that no longer being captured alive would be a good idea. Frankly, capturing these thugs is a waste of time by any anti-Islamofascist nation or military group. Some ACLU type would get them off!

Gosh, do the Democrats know about this? Tonight, I suffered through O'Reilly interviewing Democratic party butt-boys who kept repeating, "We would take the WOT to wherever the terrorists are." Guess that means they're going to have be for the war again.
