I remember Ga. Senator Talmadge used to say, "We can be baby sitter and policeman to the whole world...". Well, he was right - it's like the USA is the parent and all the other countries are her spoiled little children...the more she gives them, the less they appreciate her. I didn't get the feeling the guy was complaining. He was just commenting on losing his illusions as part of growing up. Better people should form their views of America from 50 year old Archie comic books than from most of what passes for American 'culture' these days.
