Yipes! Say NO to fair tax! It's a regressive tax. We need a flat tax.

He he he he ... I WISH it was regressive. It isn't though. Necessity spending is exempt from tax.

The Fair Tax is progressive. Consumption tax increases as the level income increases Fair Tax FAQ #49.

We need a flat tax.

Our current income tax started was essentially s flat tax. at the time the income tax was enacted in 1913. The first tax ranged from merely 1% on the first $20,000 of taxable income and was only 7% on incomes above $500,000. Approximately only 2% of the population, counting both taxpayers and their dependents, was required to file returns. Today, more than 80% of the population is under the income tax.

Passing another flat tax will only result in another corrupt tax system enforced by the oppressive IRS.

But it would create the worlds largest entitlement system to compensate. Everybody would be on the dole.

I agree with you, Flat Tax is the only "fair tax" not this national sales tax which will end up taxing everything from the number soda cans in your trash, plus the deposit which some states already have, to the number of time you flush the "john crapper"

"We need a flat tax. "

You need to think before you write. The present income tax started as a "flat tax" and is described by no one as that presently - except perhaps you.

and flat tax has serious downsides as shown in this post.

For some further insights see what a tax preparer has to say about a flat tax:

I'd be happy with a ten percent flat tax, until people are more used to the idea of a national consumption tax.
