The number of Fair Tax supporters is 700,000 and growing

How do they know that each of these 700,000 is a different person, and of course its growing, no one is ever removed from the email list of cumulative "supporters".

More than likely there are less than 50,000 people out there who strongly support this hare-brained plan, and most of them think they're gonna get a bunch more money if this were to pass. If they knew the truth that there is no Free Lunch, they'd likely find another cause to fill their free time.

We'll see how close this petition gets to 700,000 since I'm sure that they are sending a note to all of their "supporters".

Even if you generously give them 50% of that number, it's still less than 1% of the population, and roughly 1/3 the number of people that believe Bush/Cheney blew up the WTC themselves, or close to the same number of people that believe they have been "abducted by aliens".

Actually it is a great deal larger number than that. Several million in fact when you add up all the organizations, such as the Farm Bureau, which have endorsed and are actively pursuing enactment of HR25, the Fairtax Bill.
