I have it on good source, that when they outfit the interior of airliners for them they actually do have to position the seats pointing toward Mecca. And I think they already have Halal as meal choices on board.

Just like the kosher meal option, many, if not most all by now, international carriers have been offering the halal option for years.

I've tried them all. Some of the kosher meals are good, some of the halal meals are good, some of the 'regular' meals are good. And vice/versa.

I know that the airlines have been making halal meals available from some time, as an option that can be requested in advance on flights that serve meals. I don't know how long they've been available, but I do know that vegatarian and Kosher meals have been available for at least 40 years now.
