Let The Devil Take Tommorow (Moshe Arens On The Consequences Of Olmert's Folly Alert)
Haaretz.com ^ | 08/13/06 | Moshe Arens

To lead the nation in a war to victory was just too much for them. Too heavy a burden for their narrow shoulders. That trio - Ehud Olmert, Amir Peretz and Tzipi Livni - asked and received a mandate to lead the people of Israel, promising to take our fate into our own hands and unilaterally establish Israel's borders by evacuating Israelis who live in Judea and Samaria, and turn Israel into a country "in which it will be a pleasure to live." We do not know and probably will never know if they would have been up to that task, but we now know they are not fit to govern Israel in these trying times.

Excellent article by one of Haaretz's few non-Leftist columnists, former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Arens. He has penned a devastating critique of Olmert's Folly. Its consequences are now becoming immediately evident.

Definitely not fit to govern. All three channeling Neville Chamberlain. Only time has speeded up. Fox just reported that Hezbollah is firing on Israel, and Israel is firing back.

Ehud Olmert, Amir Peretz and Tzipi Livni must now answer to the Israeli's and Israel's supporters around the world.

Can BiBi's return to power be far off?

Let's hope. But ultimately remember that the very first commandment says, in essense, that only G-d can save the Jews.

The betting pool is now open for the fall of Olmert's government. 60 days over-under?

Maybe Bibi's days as a saviour are over. What has he done for Israel lately? He could have been Sharon's natural successor, but he played that badly. I am hoping (and praying) that a new Israeli lion emerges.

Its not going to be Bibi. He met Arafat after all and gave up Hebron. Somewhere, Israel is still awaiting her own Ronald Reagan. In a nation filled with political mediocrities.

Israel is frighteningly like the U.S. It's military is unmatched by any other in quality, yet its civilian leadership is cowardly and unprincipled. If the people can't wrest the leadership away from a bunch of Jewish John Kerrys and Ned Lamonts, their nation and the hope of a Jewish homeland is finished.

,p.A tiny nation amid a sea of millions of adherents of a genocidal cult cannot retreat behind its borders and live in hedonistic peace.

My Grandma used to say, "God helps those who help themselves".

in essense, that only G-d can save the Jews.

He however sometimes chooses an unlike force to do so, as in Gideon, and David.

Not unlike the US is it?

The fighting will resume before the ink has a chance to dry. This whole thing has been one big UN circle-jerk in a coordinated attempt to convince Israel they should just lie down and die. Hezbollah needs to be exterminated with extreme "orkin man" resolve. There is no other way to peace. Victory, complete and absolute must be achieved.

If Olmert is truly in the way of such resolve, Israelis will need to take appropriate action.

I hope not! I have a feeling Olmert feels him breathing down his neck.

What? Turn the other cheek?

Israel needs another Joshua. He who led the tribes of Israel in retaking the land from the Canaanites would do wonders be taking the land of Israel's new enemies.

She needed to read the Holy Scripture because that statement contrasts enormously with what is required there.

When David helped himself by numbering the people Israel lost an enormous number of those people and David (beloved of God) had to repent to stop the carnage that GOD wrought upon his people.

Probably earlier, depending on how many seconds the cease-fire lasts.
