A few modest tips for airline safety(Wes Pruden)
Wash Times ^

(snip) An Israeli company has developed a "security booth," where a passenger puts his hand onto a sensor to measure blood pressure, pulse and perspiration, a computer looks at these biometric readings to tip the cops to a suspect, and cops swoop in. But who needs a machine? (snip)....

Something better is clearly needed, something more attuned to the sensibilities of the ACLU, which has never met a criminal it couldn't learn to like. We must find a way to turn perverted religious belief against the Islamic fascists who, we are often told, do not speak for the Muslim masses.

Why not, for example, an all-pork, all-the-time airline, with its Boeings emblazoned with a ferocious razorback on the tail assembly? Each cabin would be equipped with a small, elegantly designed pig pen somewhere among the first-class seats, accommodating an endearing baby porker. This would play to the Islamist terror of dying in a crash and arriving in paradise festooned with juicy pig entrails. Would a jihadist warrior expect to greet a virgin with tasty infidel barbecue on his breath? Even a more modest employment of the noble pig could make a lot of expensive, infuriating airport security unnecessary. The airlines could replace inedible airline food with offering a choice of ham or bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches -- or matzoh ball soup for Jewish passengers who would get the joke but nevertheless wish to keep kosher in the friendly skies. This would send devout jihadists fleeing to alternative transportation on their way to assignations with violent death.

All the machine is going to do is keep nervous people from flying. Pruden's idea is much better. In fact, make everybody eat a slice of bacon as they board the plane.

Pretty soon we'll all be flying naked.

But then, doesn't that mean we'll be subject to body cavity searches?

Yikes!

How about a box where you put Islamics to be searched and they don't come back out again?

It makes me nuts that there are products out there yet not used:

www.hienergyinc.com

Experts from HiEnergy Technologies, the homeland security industry
leader in neutron-based explosives detection, illustrate the
company's core technology, Atometry(tm), and how its related
products have the capability to detect hidden explosives,
irrespective of shape or form, solid or liquid, and independent of
the container they are in.

In light of the mass confusion and sense of vulnerability caused
by last weeks events in London, the advantages of HiEnergy's
Atometry(tm) technology are more apparent than ever, especially as
it can detect the individual and seemingly harmless components
that may be used in binary explosives, which if left undetected
represent a grave risk to our national security.

HiEnergy's Atometry(tm) technology is not "chemically blind" like
many other technologies, but performs material identification
using proprietary neutron-gamma activation analysis, which is
necessary to distinguish liquid explosives and other dangerous
materials from innocuous substances, through almost any barrier,
non-invasively and in real time, with almost certainty.

HiEnergy's Atometry(tm) technology and suite of products,
including SIEGMA(tm), CarBomb Finder(tm) and STARRAY(tm), have
been researched and developed over nine years to address the
critical weaknesses in transportation security, as highlighted by
recent events in London, England and Mumbai, India, as well as the
unchecked threats to our brave troops by IEDs overseas.

HiEnergy Technologies was formed in 1997 and has since paved the
way in neutron diagnostics. The technology has passed all
government regulatory tests, has been tested extensively by the
U.S. Army for Humanitarian and military demining and for
countering Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's), and has been
found to be an effective identifier of all common explosives,
other combustibles and even narcotics.

The SIEGMA(tm) system is presently deployed within the public
transportation sector by SEPTA in Philadelphia to protect its 14
million passengers (see CBS news website for 8/12 report). The
CarBomb Finder(tm) vehicle borne system is under contract with the
U.S. Army to be deployed to detect the presence of car bombs and
IED's in our Capitol.

Well then security will be all over me because my blood pressure will be through the roof after coming back from an overseas flight and having to check in at a domestic airlines counter for my connecting flight. After standing in line for for an hour ( this is even before security ) with 100 people ahead of me and only 2 agents on the counter to check people in ( and the guy in front of me doesn't have a ticket but is purchasing one for the following week and can't decide which schedule he likes so has the agent go through about 50 of them explianing all the connections and layovers and how much the price is going to be ) ARGHHH !!!!

Even Jews?

Then again, if all else fails, there's the French approach, i.e. everybody flies naked, and all luggage and clothing items are shipped to destinations on trains and steamships.

What scares me is that this plays right into the UN's Agenda 21 idea of people living in "human habitats", where an individual would require special permission to travel outside you "assigned" area. I know, I know, ... kook conspiracy theory, but we are loosing our freedoms, and once lost, they don't come back without bloodshed.

I'm usually so danged mad by the time I get that far in an airport that this contraption would never let me board.

Wouldn't it be much more simple to put all Muslims on the no-fly list and be done with it?

I like the pig in the pen idea. Or maybe dress up a hog in a uniform with a badge that sez Lil' Air Marshall or something!

Pruden comes close to the solution, but here is one that would work -- everyone boarding a plane should be required to strenuously denounce some icon of the Muslim religion. Those who can't do it are subjected to a strip search, and can have no checked or carry-on luggage. Problem solved.
