For the last few years on here i've been hearing that if you vote for a Libertarian you are actually voting for a democrat.Well in this case if you dont vote for the libertarian you actually are voting for the democrat. So what say you republicans are you going to support the Libertarian or the liberal Democrat?
Call the number in the article make the phone calls and visit the candidate website http://www.smither4congress.com/ and then call the local texas republicans and get them to back the libertarian candidate for this election.

Do you want to see a Libertarian in Congress?Depends.
Does he support homosexual marriage?
Is he in favor of legalizing currently illegal drugs?
What's his position on abortion?
Based on my experience with libertarians, I'm sure this candidate and I would not agree on the issues above.

Do you want to see a Libertarian in Congress? No. But I want to see how this thread develops. :)

It's a shame that some "republicans" would rather see a progressive (read communist) liberal democrat in office that a, albeit gung-ho, conservative.

You've already got a libertarian in Congress, my whacko cogress-critter Dr. Paul. Before you lambast me, I have known Dr. Paul for years and speak from personal experience. He's a Libertarian in camo and a certifiable nutcase.
Come and get him of you want him.

The Republican Party of Texas has a history of supporting Democrats over Libertarians.

From a highly reliable source the DeLays are working to get the Republican write-in candidate actually on the ballot box.

There are not enough sane people in this country for it to be trusted to Libertarian lawmakers.

Did the Librarian of Congress quit?
I see absolutely no sign of a unified write-in Republican candidate?
The Librarian may have a chance, giving Ron Paul some company.

"Do you want to see a Libertarian in Congress? Of course you do."
What a joke. These has never been one person elected to sit anywhere in DC with the -L (Libertarian) next to his/her name. If this is an "of course" candidate, why does the Libertarian candidate need his help?
It's funny that the only hope the Libertarians have is some sort of poor planning or a snafu by another party.

In this case, no...
Being a Harris County Republican Precinct Chair in Texas CD22 who has been in the middle of this debacle over the last few months, I have not been very impressed with how we have been led down this path, and have had to go ahead play this game per the Texas Election Code...
I really wish it had worked out, I really do...
I believe that this Thursday night in Pearland, we will all have one more chance to screw this up...I hate to sound like this, but my sarcasm gets the best of me...
One thing to remember now on a National basis...
If the democrats can spend the money, and time (over 5 years to get the "number one" guy in Congress), they can get anyone they want now...
I hope the party has learned a hard lesson now...Regardless of the blame or validity of the alligations and attacks on any representative from now on...

So the Librarian Party couldn't think far enough ahead to actually get a candidate
before DeLay dropped out?
Yup -- just what we need is somebody in Congress who can't plan past yesterday's lunch.

Mr. Burns: This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you.
Smithers: You are noble and poetic in defeat, sir.

What's his position on the war on terror?
