Taking on The Times: One Soldier's Response
foxnew.com ^ | 8/16/06 | Sergeant Timothy Boggs

Posted on 8/16/2006, 6:17:25 PM by NJRighty

In response to The New York Times' decision to publish top secret information regarding how the government tracks financial transactions of terrorists, Sergeant Timothy Boggs wrote the following letter to The Times:

Mr. Keller,

What ceases to amaze me about your paper is the lengths you are willing to go to make headlines and sell papers. Who cares if those headlines help the enemies of America, you guys are making money and that is what it is all about in the end right?

Your recent decision to publish information about a classified program intended to track the banking transactions of possible terrorists is not only detrimental to America but also to its fighting men and women overseas. I know because I am a sergeant in the army on my second tour to Iraq. As I am sure you don’t know because you aren’t in Iraq, and I am sure never will be, terrorism happens here everyday because there are rich men out there willing to support the everyday terrorist who plants bombs and shoots soldiers just to make a living. Without money terrorism in Iraq would die because there would no longer be supplies for IEDs, no mortars or RPGs, and no motivation for people to abandon regular work in hopes of striking it rich after killing a soldier. [snip]

Thank you for continually contributing to the deaths of my fellow soldiers.

Sgt Boggs has a good point, but I dont believe the New York Tomes publishes secrets to sell papers. In fact their readership is down.

IMO they publish anything that might hurt the Bush Administration and anyone who gets in ther way , such as America's military are collateral damage and they could care less.

The NY Times will always "out" any "closely held secret" of the US Government because they are traitors in my view. Like the Sergeant, I wish I had subscribed to the NYT (New York Traitors) so I can cancel my subscription! I guess I should be content to know that not a penny of my money supports the traitors.

It really makes my blood boil when the NYT claims that they out these secrets in order to protect our freedom. What they are really doing is endangering our very lives!!!WAY TO GO SERGEANT!!!

Good letter and good point. Sgt Boggs nailed it in saying there was absolutely no reason to print that story, it benefitted no one but terrorists.

Bill Keller: "I guess I would say if you're under the impression that the press is neutral in this war on terror, or that we're agnostic--and you could get that impression from some of the criticism--that couldn't be more wrong."

Really Bill??? I had no idea you had taken sides???!! (/sarc) You, Mr Keller, and you little floundering rag definitely took sides a long time ago. You are 100% for the terrorists and anything that will bring down the Bush Administration no matter how many Americans are killed by your... I think "treason" is the word.

Here's a question Billy, if the Bush Administration captured the equivalent of the terrorist "Enigma" machine, would you rush out to report on it or keep it quiet for the sake of America's security? Honestly, I think you already answered that though.

And if anyone thinks Keller is the main reason the NYTs is so insanely pro-terrorist, just look at his useful idiot boss, Arthur Sulzberger, Jr.!!

The NYT, as well as the ACLU, are indeed enemies of Freedom. Both are treasonous organizations and need to be crushed.

The NYT is nothing but an extension of the RAT party, the views and opinions of the editors parallel those of the Demonrats; anything goes as long as it hurts President Bush and the WOT.

For the DUcks and the KOS kool-aid kids, the NYT is their bible, and their mouthpiece in the print media. Only a sick
Newspaper like the times, and simple minded morons like Kieth Oberman, would depend on readers/viewers like that to stay in business.

The NYT editors and all the rest of the RATS better invest in drug stocks now, because on election night in November they will be buying lots of them to cope with the rejection that real Americans have in store for them at the polls!
