Well if the GOP cannot get turnout in that district as well as dozens more, they have only themselves to blame. The Party has constantly supported the PC moderate candidate in many close districts where a conser.could win and the other way round where Yes, a Rino could win. The name of the game is winning. And as one wag wrote here, Rove is turning out not to be the genius we all prayed for. We do miss Lee Atwater and his killer instinct. If only W had it on domestic policy and now lately in pursuing Islamofascists, Pubs would destroy the pacifist-socialist leftist Party.

Seems ole Tom has figured there's Big Bucks to be made outside elected office lobbying for corporate America, lots of cash, lots of perks and a lot lower profile.

At one time I thought Tom was a different kind of politician but it's starting to look like has morphed into the typical "It's all about me" politician.

Of course Eberle has a bit of an agenda here, as the failed candidate for Texas GOP Chairman. Tina Benkiser appears to be at least somewhat responsible for this fiasco, and Eberle wants everyone to know.

There are some who say that it's the Abramoff scandal, but (a) I don't know what DeLay did, other than knowing Abramoff by name and (b) it is really not going anywhere.

If you lived in TX22, you wouldn't say that. Abramoff did DeLay in. It was the major issue during the primary. DeLay sent a rambling 8-page letter defending his dealings with Abramoff. It was so ridden with mistruths and lies that I didn't vote for DeLay in the primary.

Your statement that you don't know what DeLay did in the Abramoff scandal shows more of your ignorance than DeLay's innocence. District 22 voters, at least 30-40% of them, know what DeLay did. And DeLay is probably going to be convicted.

I think he got fed up with the weak national leadership.

DeLay *was* the national leadership.

He decided, two or three weeks after winning the friggin' primary, that he couldn't win.

DeLay decided *before* the primary that he couldn't win. He just staying in the primary because he didn't want Tom Campbell to win the nomination and have a spot on the ballot. Republicans don't have a candidate on the ballot because Tom DeLay acted like a juvenile little kid.

LOL! You said before this letter was sent out that you would never vote for DeLay under *ANY* circumstances! You've said before that your hatred of DeLay started during a campaign MANY, MANY years ago. IIRC, it was a campaign for Fort Bend County Sheriff. Now you are saying that if he hadn't sent out the letter that you would have voted for him! LOL!

Yes, I'm sure that if I lived in TX-22, I'd be inundated with propaganda from the likes of you and your fellow Earle-bots.And DeLay is probably going to be convicted.

Yeah, forgive me but your track record for honesty and foresight leaves much to be desired.

And I'll let post #69 say the rest.
