WTH are you talking about? Israel did *not* just "attempt to neutralize the imminent threat on their border". It defended itself against attacks by a foreign power. There's a huge difference. Israel was fired upon - it fired back.

The original post does not seem to say that the Kurds attacked Turkey or Iran. It implies that Turky and Iran attacked the Kurds (preemptively if you insist, though I doubt that very much).

What's up w/ the Kurds anyway? Does anyone know why everyone in that neighborhood seems to hate them so much? Are they muslims too or something else?

Well if I was W and had some influence like with the CIA and all, I'd seriously be covertly working with the Kurds in Iraq to be a real pain in "I'mMadinTheHead's" back side.

Now what is going on here? Of course the Guardian is a far left news agency, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Iran and Turkey shelling Iraq? Is the victory by the terrorists over Israel encouraging others to step forward?

Here again we have a group of people, Kurds, not a country, not a government, in the middle of things between Arab states around them. The Middle East is hopeless. They have been fighting each other non-stop since time immemorial.

The only thing of real interest to the U.S. in the entire Middle East are the oil fields. We should occupy them and operate them under a U. S. protectorate and bug out.

That isn't the point. I believe the point being made is if you are supporting a terrorist organization over soverign nations then you would have supported the Hezbollah incursion into Israel.

WWIII(or WWIV, if you count the Cold War)
I just wish we'd get the 21st Century Crusades started...and finish the job this time.

Muslims - yes.

FWIW, several years ago we had a Turkish intern at my work - CEO in training.

He described the Kurds as worthless who didn't produce anything except trouble...pretty tribal.

I believe the ban on the Kurdish language was repealed recently as part of a human rights clean up act preceding Turkey's seeking entry into the EU.
