A post on the message board at the site the article came from said that their October concert in Saskatchewan sold out in 10 minutes. The Stones were so impressed that they added a second show, which sold out in 20 minutes. A guy from New York said that their last show at Giants stadium was a packed house with floor tickets at $450 and upper decks over $100.
I guess it's all in where/who you are. I can't imagine there's a whole lot of excitement amid the vast wheat fields of the Canadian plains, so those people up there will take whatever they can get. And I know there's a lot of money in NYC, but no way I'd ever pay that kind of cash to see those old goats trying to keep their youth alive.
Didn't they do a farewell tour about 20 years ago?
