Thinking about its probably genetics. It has to be. There is no other explanation for it. Some people are just able to survive radiation levels that would kill almost any other person on earth.

Its nature. They are preselected by nature to survive a hostile radioactive environment. This could be very valuable to scientists who are studying long term effects of radiation.
