I find this very interesting but not sure where this person walks. I have been all over Europe vacationing while in the military and if I see a muslim at all it would be a rare occurance. I just don't see them and I live here. Maybe he looks for them or maybe they are hidding and he looks in old buildings or something. I am really being serious. I could walk out side right now and go off base and I would not see any. Seriously. I think this muslim thing is a bit overkill. Currently I am in Sicily.

I don't think OldFriend meant Free Republic; that was probably a more general "us." I've been a Freeper for nearly two years, and so far everyone I've met in this forum is friendly to Israel and the Jewish People. DU and Daily Kos, on the other hand . . .

And not just the Spanish. Portugal's history is similar; in fact, the two countries were united for a while. There's a fellow in my church who is of Portuguese ancestry, and a couple of years ago, he checked his roots and found out he was 7/8 Jewish; the only immediate ancestor who wasn't was the great-grandparent that gave him his family name.

There was a Spanish bishop in the 15th century who, because of criticism of his conversos ancestry compiled a genealogical history of all the noble houses of, I think, Aragon. His conclusion showed that even then there was not a single noble house that did not have at least some converso blood. Even Torquemada had converso ancestors. Indeed, on the arms of my grandmother's mother's family who are from Spain there is an unusual device, a yellow (actually gold) fess (horizontal bar) charged with three 6 pointed molets (they look like Stars of David) and are also yellow. It's unusual because almost never do you see one metal charged on top of another, and even rarer the same metal, in this case gold atop gold. It's almost as if it was not meant to be noticed.

It's already happening here in Dearborn Michigan and maybe a few other places. In short, no matter what your religion is, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, or even atheist, we are all Jews now. I remember w hile back seeing an article posted here about how Malmo in Sweden is so Moslemized that the writer, a young lady, felt safer when she lived and worked in New York City.

Hey, cut the Spanish monarchs some slack; the Jews were given the choice of conversion or expulsion. ;') I think the main reason the Spanish empire was both expansionist and short-lived was that six century occupation by the Moslems -- too much of their culture (such as it is) rubbed off.
