If he has used this to get everyone talking about him, then he has achieved the biggest hurdle of challengers in races against incumbants. That is name recognition. And he stakes out his issue.

If people in his district don't like it though, then he won't win. However, these are the most famous campaign ads in this season, so far. They have gotten him national attention. In my mind they are better than some threads on FR. I like the line at the end. Put yer shoes on."

So, you'd vote for a left fringe socialist because you don't like an AD?

"Actually, Robinson himself proudly said he was the "(Black) Jesse Helms."

Actually, I distinctly remember the newspaper article that started that whole thing in the Winston-Salem Journal. It article began with "He's back and this time he's black!". It went on to claim that Robinson was a "black Jesse Helms". It was intended to be disparaging, but instead it was very funny to the average, conservative, Helms fan.

Robinson can't even win a seat on the Winston Salem Town board. Wonder how many elections in a row do you have to lose beore you get a job?

Jern, for clarification purposes, Winston-Salem is a CITY, not a town and Robinson was elected to serve on the Winston-Salem City Council TWICE. It is amazing how false rumours run rampant through the NC-GOP.

He served the city faithfully, as an elected official, for eight (8) years.
